TFCU,,,, and my account! ((Venting))

So once again I am mad at my bank. I tried to use my credit card that is linked to my checking acount when I was in Jersey on tuesday and it would not work, it came up stolen!!! I have the card mind you.... so I call the bank and find out TJ MAXX's credit data base for the past four years was broken into (on monday) and information was stolen (visa's account numbers). Anyhow as a precaution my bank shut down peoples accounts who could have been effected,,(which is good).

But here is my problem, we are doing DYI e-party invites and my card did not go through (due to the bank error) for paper that was on backstock that I was ordering online, the paper is now out of stock, and not re-orderable and I am having trouble finding! We already have over half of the paper done for the invites.

I HATE THIEVES..... THEY DONT KNOW WHAT STRESS THEY PUT ON EVERYONE ELSE.

Ps... the bank told me today that they sent out a letter stating the problem and I would see my new card in 7-10 business days! Being that this has happened 4 other times in the last 3 years, I am switching banks!

ok i have TFCU also, it is not their fault i know it ***** BUT, many cards #'s were stolen if u shopped at marshall's or tj maxx so they had to cancel all of them

it stinks but its for our protection!

I know, it's sooooo fustrating for the 4th time!!! I dont know of any bank that has done this in such a short amount of time.

I have Chase and FH has Provident -- we love both and have never had problems. WaMu I had and had many problems with....I wouldnt bother with them.

I LOVE commerce bank, cant complain, convenient locations- theyre everywhere

I do all my stuff with HSBC. It's not the bank's fault... it's just in the last few years hackers have been violating systems and stealing people credit card information. I have yet to get a call or letter from HSBC, so consider yourself lucky that they took the initiative...

FH and I are both part of Suffolk Federal Credit Union which would pretty much offer the same benefits as TFCU. We've never had any problems and CU's tend not to charge alot of extra fees, like checking accounts are always free, whether you have direct deposit or not...stuff like that. And savings accounts require only a $5 minimum deposit.

I belong to chase but I do shop at tj maxx and all my cards are visas does this mean my accounts can be cancelled?

Switch to Commerce...The bank is open 7 days....I am sorry that this happened to you...

I use Commerce, and I'd recommend it. The Online Banking is very easy and convenient, and at Commerce, every time you go, you get free pens and lollipops.

My accounts are with Commerce... which is great. I havent had any problems, and they are open late/and seven days a week.

FH is with NY Community (which I would not reccomend.. they are not that great about banking outside of your 'home branch'... )

I know how you feel although, I work at SFCU and we have the same issue. It's not us that has the problem, but it is an issue with Visa. I know that it *****, but what we do for our members is let them come into the nearest branch and we will make you a new card right then and there. That way you don't have to wait for it to come in the mail. I'm not sure if TFCU does that. But hey come check us out anyway. You can have an account with us, and do you banking throught TFCU if that is what is coser to you.

If your card was one of the possible ones compromised, YES. I would just call your bank and check on it.

I use bank of america and totally love it....
FH uses washington mutual and he likes it alot...

Oh yea, I am happy they did. It's just fustrating when I realized what was effected in my account
