Thailand - anyone been to for HM??

i hear its beautiful but just wanted to know if anyone can share any info... i have friends that went but not for HM...

I am not going to Thailand for my HM but have been to Thailand twice - Bangkok and Phuket. It's very exotic with lots to do - beautiful beaches, amazing spas, tons of shopping, great food, etc.

You can get a lot of bang for your buck.

I stayed at all 5 star hotels for $200 per night.

Phi Phi islands were just spectacular with some of the best snorkeling out there. Oriental Spa and Banyan Tree are world class spas and surprisingly quite affordable. You would have to pay MUCH more to go this level spa anywhere else in the world. Siam City is a shopping paradise. There is so much unique sightseeing to do.

The only downside to Thailand is that there are a lot of seedy places with TONS of prostitutes. This is part of sightseeing so you'll probably have to see it. I found these areas to be disturbing and definitely not romantic. I also thought they were quite cruel to the elephants that they have for you to ride. They hit them with these large metal sticks.
