We're starting to hear from friends and family that they have taken off for our wedding and can't wait for the big day! I hope we can make the day as fun for them as it will be meaningful to my FW and I. We don't have a lot of OOT guests, so I wasn't sure if STD's were necessary, but it's good to have a preliminary idea of who is and isn't coming. Also great to know that your loved ones genuinely want to share in one of the happiest days of your life.
Even though I shouted my wedding date from the rooftop (well, okay, just through Facebook), we still sent out save the dates as a fun reminder for family and friends. We don't have a lot of OOT guests either but save the dates seem the norm as of late.
We used the magnet kind so around Christmas time everyone that we saw was like ' hey you're on our fridge!' And we felt like such badasses ! Haha

My mom didn't and still doesn't understand the benefit of a STD. However that is exactly why we want to send ours out!
