Thank you card Dilemma

I am planning on DIYing my thank you cards, I've been waiting for my pro pics but next week is my 1 month mark. I think I need to send it out ASAP(some of my guests are calling me telling me that some people are wondering where my thank yous are..). I called my photographer and he said that he will have it by the end of this month (before we signed the contract he told me that it takes up to 2months).

since the end of Sept is WAY too late I made one out of pictures my DHs cousin took.. Do you think I should send the one I made yesterday or wait for my pro pics? does it look bad?

********One other question. is it rude to have the wording printed? my friends parents own a photo store and he said he is willing to give me a good deal on photopaper. do you think it will be a bad idea if I write something in the back? or maybe just sign it?

I think it would be ok to wait for thank you card, I wouldnt send it out a year later.

If you want to use the pro picture then wait. I think if you have a pre-printed card its fine, maybe you can add a little note if its hard to write on photopaper if you feel its too impersonal.

However, you really should hand-write a personal thank you to each of your guests. I think it's kind of rude to send a generic pre-printed thank you... JMO though.

You have up to a year to send out thank you cards (according to ettiquet books). If you really want to wait until your pics come in and that isn't until the end of this month, I think that's OK.

However, you really should hand-write a personal thank you to each of your guests. I think it's kind of rude to send a generic pre-printed thank you... JMO though.

I would wait for pro-pics. Not that those pics aren't nice, but you'll like the pro ones more and wish you had waited. I haven't ordered my TY's yet either.. If you send within a few months (like 3-4), that is still sooner than most I've gotten...

Oh, and I would hand-write each one, printed is too impersonal IMO

Your Thank You card came out awesome, but i would wait for the pro pictures.

Also, is there a place where you can write a personal thank you, some people like it when they get something special other than the generic thank you.

I've never heard of guests calling to see where there thank yous were. I'm not getting my proofs until December, and my guests will have there thank yous by Feb. At the 6 month mark. If someone calls to see where it is...I'll tell them to check their mail box in February

I would NOT pre-print a message and would hand-write it in. JMO

tough! you JUST got married; give me a break! they think you have nothing better to do than send thank yous? I haven't sent mine out and no one has mentioned them; i'm trying to get them out before six months but i'm working and in school and honestly if someone gave me a hard time I'd probably punch them.

that said, your thank you looks nice but i would still wait for your pro pics. i made mine on snapfish, using pro pics.

I find it really funny that people are busting you about thank you cards one month after the wedding.
I mean dont people realize that it takes time to get the professional pics in and then to organize it onto a layout etc

These guests want their thank you's so bad why dont they try sending in their RSVP's on time



I am going through the same thing, i am married 3 months and have been hearing Shiit from people since like 3 weeks after the wedding that my thank you's arent out yet....give me a break

FBIL married last June 07, we just got his thank you card. I would wait for the pro. I think one month is rude to be calling.
