I am planning on DIYing my thank you cards, I've been waiting for my pro pics but next week is my 1 month mark. I think I need to send it out ASAP(some of my guests are calling me telling me that some people are wondering where my thank yous are..). I called my photographer and he said that he will have it by the end of this month (before we signed the contract he told me that it takes up to 2months).
since the end of Sept is WAY too late I made one out of pictures my DHs cousin took.. Do you think I should send the one I made yesterday or wait for my pro pics? does it look bad?
********One other question. is it rude to have the wording printed? my friends parents own a photo store and he said he is willing to give me a good deal on photopaper. do you think it will be a bad idea if I write something in the back? or maybe just sign it?

That is exactly what I was thinking!!!
I told DH about this thread today and he said the same thing. We have no other choice but to wait until Dec for our proofs, so they will have their TY cards by our 6 month anniversary.
With some of our guests...I'd like to wait until about 2 weeks after our one year anniversary and say...'You would have gotten this sooner but I miss placed your check.' We got a few notes on our late RSVPs that said 'Sorry, we misplaced your invitation.'

I love your thank you card!! But I would wait for the pro pics. Like all the other brides posted, you have a year to send a thank you card. I find it hard to believe that some guests are wondering where their thank yous are!! You might need to have a family memeber make them aware that it's a long process...you are still waiting for your pro pics and then you need to create a layout, order the thank yous, wait for them, and write them!!!!
