Thank you card question

Thank you card question

WHat's everyone's thoughts on having the inside of the thank you card pre-printed with a sentence or two thanking them for being a part of our special day and for their gift. Then, I'd write their names, sign ours and some thoughts of my own for close friends/family.

Is that too impersonal? I am not sure..just know it will be a HUGE time saver and I have over 200 to write and we're buying a house next week and moving...so I have been putting it off trememdously just thinking of all the hours and hours it will take!!

THanks

My photographer offers this but I think it's impersonal. I think it kind of looks like the easy way out. I know it takes a lot longer to fill out every single thank you but it wont be that bad and all of your guests will really appreciate it.

If you are getting the traditional cards where you slide the picture in the pocket then maybe you can start writing them out now. Since I am getting the card looking ones I can't start ahead, and I will be writing them out myself.

My parents got a pre-printed thank you card and it looked very impersonal. I wouldn't do it. We have 320 coming to our wedding and I'm NOT looking forward to the thank yous, but I'm writing them all by hand.

IMO, i would just spend the extra time writing out the thank you's.... if everyone is making an effort to come out to my wedding the least i can do is put the effort out in thanking them!

I was going to have somehting printed and decided against it after hearing friends vent about TYs they had received like that.

So I promised myself to do X amount nightly and they were done quick with no problem

I know what you mean about moving and saving time and everything...I'm still moving stuff into DH's house, school starts next week and I'm not done with my classroom, never mind lesson plans...and we are redoing the kitchen this week and having a big BBQ at the house etc etc LOL...but IMHO I think it's impersonal. I know people who have complained when they got them...specifically that they had given a nice gift for the wedding and that the bride couldn''t even be bothered to write a personal thank you note When we get ours I'm just going to do a few each day until I am done like a previous bride posted here.

Impersonal, really. You have a year after to get then all done so just do a little at a time.

I had cards that were pre-printed with two lines of text but I went ahead and wrote something for each and every one of our guests.. I thought just putting our names on it would be way too impersonal.
Btw I had over 250 thank you's to write.. it took me literally a whole weekend's devotion to get that done.

Re: Thank you card question

Thanks everyone, I knew that would be the overall opinion but had to ask anyway to shush the little 'red guy' on my shoulder. LOL. I actually ended up doing them all in one night...had FH do his half and we sat watching movies and finished in five hours. Not too bad but Lord only knows what he wrote in his, LOL : )
