At my shower I got a couple of gifts with just one card signed by a woman and her 2 daughters. Do I send one thank you card or separate thank you cards to each of them? She lives with one daughter whom she came to the shower with. Her other daughter lives on her own, but didn't attend the shower. What do you think? 1 thank you or 3? Thanks!

Re: thank you cards
I'd probably ask whoever did the inviting whether they sent one invitation or 2, or three. Then just follow that lead.

If the girl living with the mom is young (i.e. early 20's or younger), you can get away with one to that household, and one to the other household. If the girl living with the mom is older, I'd say to send three.

Re: thank you cards
I would send a combined thank you to the two women who live together and send the other daughter her own thank you card.

Re: thank you cards
I personally would keep it the way the card was written and send one thank you. If someone didn't attend but was on the card, I would write something like, thank you (name) for coming, we are sorry that (name) could not attend but look forward to seeing you all at the wedding... Not sure if that is correct or not but that's how I did it for my engagement party.
