Thank You Cards
Hello ladies! Quick question - if I am getting my thank you cards done through our photography and we already have a nice saying in our card, do I still have to write in the thank you card. We had a way of incorporating a thank you to those that could and could not attend our wedding but were nice enough to send a gift. TIA!

Re: Thank You Carfs
I'm hand writing all of my thank you cards. I think that's what the 'proper' etiquette states. But if you can include a nice handwritten line or two, tailored for the person/gift, within the thank you card you're getting from your photogo? I think it would be much more of a personal sentiment. If you choose not to do that, then I don't think you need a separate card...overkill.But it's a totally personal decision!

I'm not writing 102 thank you cards. I'm having them custom made and including miniature size photo books.

I'll be hand-writing mine out. My mother thinks it's rude not to. Florio and Monica both looked at us like we were nuts but I think it's pretty common.. It is proper etiquette to write personalized thank yous for gifts given.

I agree with rcotter, I will be handwriting all of my thank you notes. I am sure it will take a while but I think it's proper etiquette to do so.

Thank You Cards
If you don't want to have write them all what if you sign both your names. Or write a little note to close family and friends.

It's so tacky to not. I went to a wedding out of state, stayed over night, plus a gift for the wedding, and got a generic thank you in the mail. So impersonal and tacky. It's a huge pain in the a$$ to write them all out, but everyone took the time out to come to your day and spend money on you, writing a 4 minute thank you card is the least you can do.

Thank You Cards
I am going to write all the thank-you card out myself. I did that for my engagement party and will do it for the shower. I have seen a lot of generic thank-yous in the last couple of years and maybe I am old-fashioned but I don't like it. People give a lot of money and a lot of time to go to a wedding; they should at least get a handwritten thank-you. To me it seems more heartfelt and like someone put the time and effort to say thank-you. A printed generic thank you with an address label isn't personal.I feel the same way about Christmas cards.

Thank You Cards
I personally think the thank you cards should be handwritten. I remember getting a thank you card from a wedding i was a bridesmaid in and it wasn't handwritten and i was a little miffed by it. If you want to add a pre-written note and then write a little something to the guest to personalize it, i think that is okay also.

When that time comes for me - I think i will have a nice saying and still write something to make it more personal

Thank You Cards
As tiring as it was to do my shower thank you's (both bridal and baby)... I really tried to do just a generic nice saying but ultimately sometimes it doesn't work for some of the closer friends and family. So I may just end up writing them out anyway just as I did those.

Thank You Cards
I'm currently writing mine out now, as we speak. We didn't have a printed message on the cards because we didn't really find any that we liked or felt was 'us'. As tedious as it is... Im able to write more or less for specific people. I think generic thank you cards are pretty tacky and show no thought.
