Thank you notes for cash/checks???

Our eparty was last week and I'm trying to write out personalized thank you notes. I'm sticking with this format to keep it simple:
Dear ___,
It was so nice to see you at our engagement party! Thank you so much for the ___. (Insert sentence about why present is so great).
Love,
Lisa & Jay

But what do I write for checks/cash?
Dear ___,
It was so nice to see you at our engagement party! Thank you so much for your generous gift. (???).
Love,
Lisa & Jay

Help me fill in the (???) please!!!

TIA

PS These are our note cards and I printed 'Thank You' with our fancy shmancy printer!

I tried to mention something personal regarding the party .... with the gift you can say how or when you will use the gift ...

with gift cards, I told them what I bought, or was going to buy with the g/c

I am going to write thank you for your generous gift, but I kinda wanted to write another sentence about it... Or is that enough? The card feels kinda blank with just that... IDK. This is so hard!

I felt the same way! I wrote a full card for each person that attended.

my greeting changed, depending on who it was ...

'it was great to see you....

Thank you so very much for helping us celebrate our engagement. It meant a lot to both of us for you to be there. your generous gift is going directly to our ..... fund! Both (FH name) and I appreciate it so very much.

I hope to see you both REALLY soon!

Love always!

HTH!

this is what I did ... each was different, but all were very personal

But what about cash/checks? Should I say something about how it will go towards the wedding? Or does that sound corny. I def want to personalize these note cards.

What about:
Dear ____,
It was so nice to see you at our engagement party. Thank you so much for your generous gift. It went right into our 'wedding fund'!

Ugh I need something good but not corny... Am I over thinking this???

lol, see what I wrote above!

ETA: don't say wedding fund, say HONEYMOON! and mention something that you are looking forward to. you can say something about a room upgrade, or a spa treatment ... even the plane tickets!

try to make it something that they can ask you about. that makes people feel as if the gift, even though cash, still sentimental.

Re: Thank you notes for cash/checks???

I know the process is hard, but writing is VERY important to me ... I am super sentimental.

FH thought I was NUTS ... I planned to write only 5 - 7 thank you's a day. This way they were not sloppy or generic.

A thank you that is not genuine, is just patroniziing to me ... I wish you all the luck and feel free to FM me for ANYTHING!!
