Thank you question...

Thank you question...

I received a 'no' RSVP with a check (yay!) from a co-worker. I have 3.5 weeks til the wedding (insert here!), so should I send the thank you now on my personal stationery or wait til after the wedding when we have our official thank you cards to send? (since it's not like with a regular guest who sends a gift before the wedding where I could send 2 -- one for the gift, one to thank them for coming). Thanks!

Re: Thank you question...

For any no reply with a check I have already sent a thank you on my personal stationary and then I deposited the check.

ETS: For any reply with gift whether it was engagement/bridal shower/wedding yes or wedding no, I have already sent a thank you note. I will send picture thank you notes after the wedding to those that sent wedding presents (only wedding presents qualify)regardless of whether they attended or not.

So, what do you say with the 2nd picture thank you? I figured, I'd send one before & after for those who attended, saying 'Thanks so much for sharing our day with us.' What do you say for someone who wasn't there to 'share'? Thanks again@@

Re: Thank you question...

Humm, good question.

Dear Already gave us a present,

We are enjoying using XXX in our new home. It goes perfectly with our decor. We will certainly put XXX to good use/ We will enjoy using XXX on special occasions for many years to come.

or

Thank you so much for your generous/thoughtful gift, we are putting it towards XXX or have spent it on the wedding/HM. [We are using your generous/thoughtful/kind gift towards the purchase of XXX.] We cannot wait for you to see XXX.

next sentence for either of the above

We were so sorry that you were unable to share in the festivities at our wedding but thought that you would enjoy a copy of our wedding portrait/photo.

Love/Fondly/Sincerely/truly
DH and Jenniesunshine

How is that?

I would send one now, and then send a picture afterwards if you want. OR - you could call to thank them over the phone verbally and let them know that they'll get an 'official' thank you when you get them after the wedding.
