Ok after SOOOOO many of you recommended spain for a honeymoon i looked up info and OMG i cant believe how good the prices are. And this is for 5 star hotels and its so gorgeous. I would've booked it last night but we also have to figure out how long to stay in spain and how long in monaco.
For any of you girls who have been there, which hotels do you recommend? if we go to Seville, i definitely know which one we'd stay at there, but madrid and barcelona not sure about.

omg Denise - Barcelona was the time of my life. I dream of it every day and I cannot wait to go back. You would LOVE it there. The fun is endless, the food is great.
I also went to Valencia, which was gorgeous - but I'd recommend Barcelona over Valencia since I know you and FH love nightlife!!! I wish I had pictures, but I was there in 2000, so I didn't have a digital camera at the time. But honestly, I've travelled my fair share and Barcelona is at the top of the list!

Just want to say that's awesome you most definitely choose a place to HM. Just wondering though- is Spain nice all year round weather wise? Because after your thread and chatting so much about Spain it looked amazing for a HM. I always wanted to go but in Dec/Jan I dont know how the weather is and would it be worth it with the beaches etc. yuo know

yeah i wanted a place where we dont have to be on a schedule, be able to go out whenever and go out to eat and walk around the streets, walk into places and hang out with locals drinking and dancing. With other places you dont have alot of restaurant choices so you have to make reservations ahead of time and we'll be setting a schedule for ourselves this way. Spain seems to be perfect for this

i know everyone is raving about spain and sounds like the perfect HM for fh and i. I was looking up barcelona and seville too which sounds great

Barcelona is amazing. However, I went after I graduated so I did not stay in any posh hotels! My best bet is to look up hotels in Tripadvisor.com and check out what other people have to say. Those are really the best ways to figure out. You'll also see rankings in terms of most popular hotels.

I so wish I had pics to show you!! If you and FH like sight seeing at all, there are amazing sites. The nightlife is really fantastic too, you'll never be bored. You should go see a flamenco show, we did that and it was so awesome. My only warning is to keep your purse close and in front of you - we did see two women have their purses snatched! I wish I could recommend a hotel, but I was just a teen at the time so I wasn't staying in any place that I'd recommend.

ONE SITE DID have the average temp for each month, i cant remember but i think it would be cold...the city is amazing too so you can still go for that part.
Some of the 5 star hotels had suites for such great prices, i kept looking like WAIT WHAT is this right lol. I checked room rates +flight for 8 days and each one of the packages came out to $2000 and even some under $2k per person...and sorry it was for 4 and 5 star hotels
You guys are going to love it. I posted in your other post when you were looking for options that FBIL and his gf went for a wedding last year and decided to stay way longer than they had scheduled since they were having such an amazing time. And they're huge partiers too. They told me the locals go out all night long and no one sleeps (well, till siesta time in the afternoon). lol You're going to have so much fun!

yeah i looked at tripadvisor.com...and its great bc one hotel i hadnt seen was on there and everybody raved about it. Its so nice and everyone said how the 2 brothers who own it are the nicest people and about how they treat you. So it was helpful.

ok great, the whole being safe thing is important hahaha...my friends went YEARS ago and yeah i dont remember them having problems and it was all young girls well they were either teenagers or early 20's at the time.

yeah i looked at tripadvisor.com...and its great bc one hotel i hadnt seen was on there and everybody raved about it. Its so nice and everyone said how the 2 brothers who own it are the nicest people and about how they treat you. So it was helpful.
You're going to have a great time. I had the time of my life in Barcelona. The shopping is fantastic, the food is great, people are friendly AND taking a 'siesta' in the middle of the day is FANTASTIC. Sigh... Love Spain!

OMG HOW EXCITING!!! I think that's a great choice Sorry, I don't have any hotel recommendations- FH has been to Barcelona- but did the running w/ the bulls and stayed at a campgrounds- lol... Trip Advisor is a great site and I know our TA uses this often. Also, check out Rick Steves- maybe he has some info on his site (he has GREAT recommendations....)
