1/ Do I need to find out their name? 2/ Do you send them a thank you card also or your friend's name with guest's name on the same thank you?

1.Yes, find out the name.
2. Are they couples? Then I think one thank you is enough. Especially if they are engaged or living together. I could be wrong, but I think 1 is fine IF they give you one joint gift....we had one coupld give sep. gifts, they got sep. cards.

I dont know what proper etiquette is, but I would just send the one to your friend thanking them both for coming. Especially since I am sure you only sent your friend the invitation, not seperate ones to both of them.

yes find out their names! i always hated being a guest! i feel if you are spending all this $$ on them....i sure in hell better know their names!
as for thank yous....i dont think you need to give them 1. just add them on to the person who brought them. unless of course they have their own gift!

The guests of the guests are not dates or SO. Our single friends are just bringing a friend (I think).
