Re: thanksgiving ...

It's super easy... You'll do just fine!

Just remember to take the 'innerds' out of the cavity before cooking...

Re: thanksgiving ...

Its not hard! I did it a few years ago two years in a row and nailed it ..

first I made a fresh herb butter by chopping up fresh herbs and mixing it into softened salted butter

I separated the skin from the meat and rubbed the meat with the butter - I also rubbed the outside skin with the same thing. I put it in a pan in the oven with chicken stock and I basted it every so often with the chicken stock .. check the internet for cooking times. I dont remember. But the fresh herb butter was SO good!!

I didnt stuff this turkey because it was really small.. I made homemade stuffing (they call it dressing if its made outside of the turkey) and put that in the oven too ..

GOOD LUCK!

I also have an amazing sweet potato recipe if you want it ...

Of course!!

Okay - bake the sweet potatoes until they are soft enough to mash (a fork should go through very easily) .. when cool enough - peel them and mash them. (discard peel)

Add brown sugar to the mashed potatoes. Then take some with your hands and roll them into a ball (smaller than a tennis ball) Take a large size marshmallow and stick in the middle of the ball. Make sure you then cover the marshmallow so the potato completely covers it.

In a bowl combine shredded coconut, cinnamon, brown sugar. Roll the balls in the coconut mixture and put on a greased baking dish. Put into a 350 degree oven. Keep them in there to heat through but watch them - you dont want the marshmallow to explode. (if it does its not a big deal it just doesnt look as pretty and it takes away from the surprise of cutting into it for your guests ;)

SOOO GOOD!!!!
