What time did you have day light until? We are trying to decide if we should make the church at 2:30 instead of 3:00....for the sake of outdoor pictures...I think that by 4:30 that time of year...sunlight is gone...FH disagrees... we orignally wanted a mass but now because of the daylight situation we may just do the ceremony...THANKS

Re: Thanksgiving and/or Late November Brides...
I am getting married on Nov. 11, 2005 and I googled some sites to see what time the sun would set for just that reason... photo ops!
But I was just looking again and I'm finding that different sites give different outcomes.
You can find the month you're looking for. Try this...
For me, my church is at 2pm, so we have plenty of sunlight ahead of us. What I really want to capture is beautiful sunset pictures.
MY opinion is go for 2:30. I was going to have 2:30 - but me and FH decided on 2:00 instead.
PS - tell FH the bride is always right!

Re: Thanksgiving and/or Late November Brides...
My wedding is the first weekend of november and my ceremony is at 330. and i'd like to be outside by no later than 20 after 4 for at least a couple of pics. i might even consider going outside and having my receiving line outside. Actually i might post if I can do that .
I'd go for 3 i think you should be fine.

we are taking pictures before so we have plenty of sunlight
Pics from 2:30- 3:30 Church 4:00- 4:45 --------------------------sunset Inside church pics 4:45- 5:30 Reception 7:30 - 12:30 pm
It was one of the reasons we decided to see each other before. We didnt want to push up the church an earlier so more people could attend after work

I am getting married on November 25th and I am assuming the sun is going to start to set at around 4:30pm so I too am having my church at 2:00 pm and skipping on the mass and just doing the ceremony so I have as much time as possible for pictures... Very important to me.... I hope it doesn't rain I am also skipping the receiving line at the church and doing at the reception hall instead this way I don't have to greet people twice and it saves time for pics. Daylight time is definitely not on our side at that time of the year.

Re: Thanksgiving and/or Late November Brides...
We'll probably end up doing a 2:30 pm ceremony. We are planning on taking out outdoor pictures at our hall )the hall is about 20minutes away from the church). I figure take a few pics in front of the church and then head out there...thanks ladies...good luck to all of you as well

Re: Thanksgiving and/or Late November Brides...
My cousin had a 4pm ceremony the day after thanksgiving. Whenw e went into churhc it was light, when we came out it was twligiht/very dark..by the time the bride and groom came out it was almost completely dark (and they had a ceremony, not a mass)

You're probably better off having the earlier cermeony to leave a cushion of time in case things run a little behind. Good luck!!!

We moved our Mass from 3 to 2 because of daylight.

That's what I'm doing... I'm moving the church to 2:30 b/c the sun is setting around 4:30, and I'm only doing the ceremony, not a mass....

from one St. Luke's Bride to another....
we moved our church from 4 to 3....and changed it from a full mass to a ceremony. I'm hoping for a few outdoor pics, and some sunset pics by Whitestone Bridge before it gets completely dark!

Re: Thanksgiving and/or Late November Brides...
Just a thought:
Photographers take nightime pics as well. I think I would love to have some dark photos- ones like these seem very romantic.
