Thanksgiving, Family and Wedding plans

Thanksgiving, Family and Wedding plans

I hope everybody had a good Thanksgiving! Considering everything I'm going through, I have to say, mine was really nice. Everyone came over my house and for the first time in 5 years I couldn't cook, but it was nice to have everybody serve me for once!

Anyway...who had this problem at the dinner table?

My neices (13 and 11) started asking me a gazillion questions about the wedding and while I have some ideas floating around in my head, I would like to get past all my treatments and get my clean bill of health before I really jump into all the planning and stuff.

Well, everything I said, EVERYONE had a comment on. You can't do that. You should do this. Why are you doing that? I think my sister had the most annoying line of the night: 'It's fine to be simple, but you gotta at least put some LOVE into it....' WHAT????

Everyone's willing to give advice...wish they'd offer to pay for some of this ya know?

UGH!! That is so awful!! I am not sure..but maybe they are so excited about your future that they think it would be a good idea to talk about it. I feel like whenever people say anything ..family or friends..you have to remind/convince yourself they are doing because they love you and think they know what you want. Your sisters comment was a little harsh though...did she forget the whole thing is based around the love you and your FH have for one another???

Sorry to hear about that. Some people just don't realize the $hit they say until it comes out and stinks!

I know....just tell them nothing....tell them you haven't decided yet and that way you do what you want to do at your own pace. I really have kept what I am doing to a few people so I avoid everyones opinions.

ohhh no, sorry to hear, thats horrbile. i just tell everyone that we have sooo much time and we have yet to plan much, which is a complete lie, but #1 i dont want anyones opinion unless i ask, and #2 i want some of it to be a surprise to the guests.

I'm happy everyone came to your house but, I think you shouldn't share your wedding planning ideas with everybody because not everyone is going to agree with what you do. i only tell my mom, maid of honor and you guys.... i had to learn the hard way

My mother actually keeps reminding me that her and my father got married in a little church with 4 people. My father wore his best suit and she wore her best blue dress. I think they have a total of 5 pictures that her sister took during the ceremony. They've been married for 43 years!!!
