Right now I have a block of rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn MacArthur Airport because we will have a number of guests flying in. I've been debating changing it to somewhere closer to TC (per FH) but have been discouraged by my mom. The price is right (129) and they have a bar for an after party as I am getting married in the afternoon.

I'm thinking of doing the Chalet next door...their renovating but I dont think they'll be done before your wedding. I'm pretty sure the rooms have been updated, and they'll let you go see them before you block.

I blocked 25 rooms at the Huntington Hilton. I got a great price. Plus my wedding ends at midnight, but the bar there doesn't close until 2 am. Plus, if we are still in there drinking and hanging out, they will keep it open till 4 am!

As shady as the Chalet looks it really isnt. I grew up right there and my parents stayed there when they did work o the house. IT was always clean and the people were always very nice.

I really wish there was a hotel that was a little closer. I feel like the Hilton is pretty far, right?

According to mapquest it's 11.4 miles. It takes about 15-20 minutes. There's really nothing else close to there. It's also convenient to the LIE, Northern State and Southern State for those people flying in to LaGuardia or JFK.

I did the chalet motor in. I looked at the rooms there and they were really nice. I figured that we could go to one of the bars afterwars, then just walk to the chalet motor inn at the end of the night.

we blocked 20 rooms at the melville marriott, and got a shuttle bus to take guests to and from the thatched cottage.

How much did your shuttle cost?? I don't have a hotel yet, but I am debating whether to get a shuttle or not.
All of FH's family is from out of town, and most of his friends as well.
