Sometimes places do this I think and it depends on who you work with. I was quoted VERY high for Fox Hollow and at the Watermill, they were in the first like 3 places we visited and so we dressed very nicely and were overly enthusiastic and excited because we were newly engaged and I think that certain people prey on that so they think that they can get the most out of you. Over time I learned to keep my cool and act nonchallant and dress very casual I think that helped! lol

Those quotes seem high to me too. But also, to add when I went the person I met with was unwilling to do any days other than Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So if the OP I looking for a Monday, that's probably out. And I didn't meet with Maureen, I met with some guy named Derrick. He was late to our appointment (didn't apologize) and seemed confused about things, I was disappointed and ended up not going back.

I have never met a Derrick at TC before. Weird.
He said you couldn't have a wedding on any days but Friday, Saturday or Sunday??
Maureen has said many times to me that the biggest days they have weddings booked lately are Thursdays. I have a friend who works there (started working there 6 months AFTER I booked at TC) & they have events basically any day that you want to book, not just Friday-Sunday... so that comment is a bit strange to me.
Funny how the three girls who are actually booked there (in 2013 & 2014) have the same information & normal quotes and yet everyone else's info is a bit distorted.

When I booked in April, Maureen also mentioned that the prices will be going up at some point for 2013 prices (like everywhere else *sigh*). In April, they were still going by 2012 prices. It could be possible that they had a big increase. I'm curious...this is a mystery to me! lol
Yeah I went in June of this year and was quoted the $120 by Maureen so the prices must have gone up. SHe was a doll and you girls are lucky to have such a great BM it just wasn't the place for us.

Yeah, I specifically asked about a Thursday quote and he told me that they don't do Thursdays. That they didn't want to overwork their staff? Which seemed very bizarre to me. I work in catering and that just didn't make any sense. And he wasn't willing to work on prices with us at all.
I had set my appointment up with Maureen, but when we got there we got this Derrick guy. Weeks and weeks later after I'd already booked at another RH, we got a call from her. Saying that he was the book keeper or accountant or something? She wanted to know if we were interested in coming in for a tasting. We declined.
So anyway, I'm glad everyone else that booked had a positive experience though! Ended up just not being the place for us, I guess. :)

You're right - the bottom line is that we all found venues that we're happy with, but I have to say, this whole situation is bizzare!!

Me too! And hope that everyone has a great experience there and what happened to me was just a fluke. Crazy stuff happens!

We had our hotel block at the Huntington Hilton, but I would never recommend them to anyone.

I attended a wedding there this summer and we stayed at the Sheraton in Hauppauge on Motor Parkway as part of the couple's wedding block. It doesn't look so nice from the outside, but our room was so nice and well kept. Plus it's right of the LIE at exit 55, so it's convenient for OOT guests to find.
