Thatched Cottage Review

First of all if you have an outdoor ceremony in nice weather it is gorgeous out there!! You are right on the water and the tables are set up so you can eat outdoors on the water. My FH said if you got close to the water it smelled a little but i presonally didnt notice it. The food wasnt great at cocktail but they had some tropical drinks for the guests premade which I thought was cute.

The reception was in the upstairs room which is small but cozy with a nice view. Again the main course was ok, nothing spectacular and when they brought the food out they set it up on the middle of the dance floor so you had to stop dancing while they brought food to the tables which didnt make much sense to me.

The one thing that bothered me alot was there was no bar, we had to wait to ask the waitress every time we wanted a drink which was annoying especially to her because she was serving food and everything else, a little much for one person.

The acoustics in the room sounded a litle wierd too but maybe it was the DJ because he was just plain horrible, he screwed up the names as the bidal party came in, the cds kept skipping and they didnt play great music. I actually requested a song and they didnt know what it was, (a song that is played on the radio for months) I mean a dj should be up to date with the latest right.

Just my 2 cents...

Zing entertainment, also the guy wore one of those cheesy vests with black pants and white sneakers! I have to make sure my DJ will dress nice.

Re: Thatched Cottage Review

I went to a wedding here back in November. It was night already, so I could not see the beautiful grounds nor the water.

We were in the downstairs room and I didn't think much of the room. It was a bit small for the large wedding they had.

The DJ was horrible. I don't remember the name.

I heard this place is beautiful, but at night you really can't tell.

Re: Thatched Cottage Review

The food was ok, nothing special. I eat very plain anyway, but I've had better.

Since were were 14 to a table, we were so cramped it was hard to enjoy anything anyway. I couldn't even sit with my legs in front of me. I was sitting crooked!

The cocktail hour was good. Again, nothing spectacular.

Re: Thatched Cottage Review

wow..I am surprised about the food. I am not getting married there but I was considering it. I just didn't like the shape of the downstairs rooms and upstairs was too small for my party.

I went to a food tasting and it was wonderful. They had such different stuff (which I like) .. more to the trendy side. It was all soo good.
