I went to my friends wedding Sunday night. It was amazing. It sucked for me bc I couldn't dance or drink but other then that.....AMAZING!!
The place was gorgeous! The cocktail hour food was yummy! She had a mashed potatoe bar, mexican bar, sushi bar, and anything else you could think of.
Now, her DJ was Ejay the DJ? I know it rhymes He was very good and the floor was hopping- hence my saddness that I couldn't dance He did some things I didn't like. For the entrance, cake cutting, mother-daughter dance, and so forth- he told everyone to gather onto the dance floor. Yup! So, if you were old or whatever and couldn't leave your seat then you couldn't see squat bc everyone was crowding the floor.
The dinner was very good. They also did something that I never saw before. The carted out these metal , i'll call them stoves, and the waiters got the food from there and then brought it to you. Then they carted it out again.
The place and food was A+ coat check and valet was A+ DJ A+ for music C for blocking the floor

We went to a wedding there a few years ago, they did that too .... I thought it was unique and interested.
It might be called french service???

OMG Mexican bar?!?!?! SIGN ME UP!! No wonder my sis kept pushing me to check out that place!! She went to a wedding there last summer and raved about it. Too bad it's just too far for us.

We went to a wedding at Thatched Cottage last summer, and it was beautiful. The food was excellent-I agree with you Jiffy-they throw an awesome wedding.

Thank you so so so much for this review....I am so excited about having our wedding there in September. Im having the mashed potatoe bar also and mexican station, they also have a gyro station you can choose instead....sushi bar is included!!! and Frozen drinks. I am NOT missing the cocktail hour I worked so hard on finding a place like this...and I just found out that myGREAT Grammy used to go there all the time....I didnt think it was THAT HISTORICAL hahahaa

you're having your wedding there 3 days after mine! how cool! And I am definitely not missing the cocktail hour - I'm looking forward to that more than anything!

I'm in the process of finishing up my review, but I just wanted to add my two cents and tell you the Thatched Cottage was amazing. They were a dream to work with from start to finish and the guests at my wedding are still talking about the gorgeous views, the spectacular service and the great food (especially cocktail hour!). Anyone getting married there is going to be EXTREMELY happy!!!
