so in my contract it includes a 4 tiered wedding cake from a really great bakery. how much do they usually allow for something like that? if i go over do i just pay the difference? how much do cakes even cost?

Re: the all important wedding cake
It depends on your hall, most halls say the cake is included but if you want a fondant cake it is extra. My hall includes the cake but I wanted an extravagant cake so they're charging me an extra $295. Find something you like, show them a picture and they'll get you a quote

If you want to do something different from what they offer then you have to pay extra.

LOL it's not bridezillaish, I'm not sure but I would think the hall deals with the bakery. I know mine does but I'm getting married at the milleridge so they have their own bakery on premise. Maybe you can FM another bride who is having their wedding there and ask them, or you can contact your BM and find out who should be handling the cake pricing info.

Black Forest is amazing, most likely you will deal with the bakery so that you can go over filings etc. They alot you a certain amount for you cake and you pay the difference if its over that amount.

Re: the all important wedding cake
Usually, the hall tells you to do it through them...but I think sometimes it's cheaper to go straight to the bakery.

Re: the all important wedding cake
most places charged $1 extra per person for fondant on the wedding cake...i thought this was so weird since the cake is going to be the same size whther I have 150-175 4 layers is more than enough to feed that many people.....why the extra 25 bucks ???? I would rather them just give me a flat fee and say that is how much more it is for fondant...the per person thing is a little weird....unless it was goign to be drastic amount of people coming.....even then....i would feel better with a flat fee instead of trying to figure out if I should have aunt sallys friend or fondant on my cake blah.....
