The best day of my life! (vendor review, very long!)

Here's a review from my wedding day. It was by far better than I could have imagined and was truly the best day of my life!!! Despite the miserable weather yesterday, we had the most wonderful day!
No problems except that the best man got really drunk and lost all our tip envelopes. They were found, but empty. A few hours later an employee who was suspisious was questioned and he confessed to taking the money and returned it. Luckily, my husband (I love saying that!!) kept the whole thing from me until the money was returned, so the first thing I knew of it was when the maitr'd apologized to me, but I didn't even have a clue what he was talking about until my husband explained it to me. I would have been upset if I knew what was happening, but by the time I found out it was all straightened out. With that here's the dirt on my vendors:

The Inn at Eastwind: A ( would have gotten an A+ if it weren't for the whole money thing) Food was terrific, Service was great, we had John as our Maitr'd and Lisa as the bridal attendant and they were both wonderful. The tables and centerpieces were set up perfectly and the room looked beautiful. Cocktail hour was out of this world, my guests were talking about it all night.

Hair and Makeup: Strawberry Fields in Hauppague A, Debbie did my hair and makeup and anohter bridesmaid and she did a great job. My mom was done by Kelly (hair) and Vicky(makeup) and there was one other girl who did my other bridesmaids but I can't remember her name, but everything was done beautifully!

Photo: George Pliakis A+ : A definite recommendation for anyone needing a photographer. I don't know how the pictures came out yet, but he was great to work with. He had gone ahead and booked the Holtsville Ecology site for pictures just in case t rained which turned out to be a good thing. He was soooo helpful all day and made the day run smoothly. I didn't even realize he was there most of the time!

Limo: Somerset Limo A: Prompt service, clean limos, large umbrellas for everyone, a definite recommendation! I was a little nervous about them at first because they had the cheapest prices ( we checked out 6 other limo companies) and by far the nicest cars and I also heard something bad about one of their employees, but they were great!

Florist: Hitherbrook Nurseries A+: Another definite recommendation. They had the cheapest prices, the nicest florist, and the flowers were beautiful!

Dress: Bridal Suite of Patchogue B+: The dress came out perfect, but the service there wasn't always the best. I had to wait for service almost everytime I went in there, except for the very first time, since I hadn't ordered the dress yet. Once I ordered it, I felt as if I was kind of pushed aside. When my dress first came in (it was also a month late) I came in to try it on and they told me I couldn't and when I finally convinced them to just let me try it on quickly, they left me in the dressing room waiting in my underware for 20 minutes! Other than that, the dress was great and the seamstress did a nice job.

DJ: Tommy's tunes A+++: They did a fabulous job! At the last minute, they had to switch emcees, b/c mine was sick, but it worked out great. We had vinny as our DJ and Kevin as the Emcee. Everyone, and I mean everone, even my 80-90 year old relatives were on the dance floor. The music was perfect and everyone commented on how great of a job they did. I would definitely use them again if I had to!

Overall, the day was truly the best day of my life. I was glowing all day long and didn't even notice or care about the rain!!! I have a few pictures and I'm going to attempt to post them in another post, along with any vendors I may have forgotten. Now its off to Hawaii in two weeks and I can't wait! After all the excitement, I see why you need the honeymoon!
