At my shower a few weeks ago, one of the married girls I was talking to asked if FH and I have had the 'big' one yet: the big argument. She said it usually takes place 1 month before the big day and is the ugliest, most blown up argument a couple has ever had prior to walking down the aisle.
Several other married women chimed in and agreed that they all had a major blow-up with their FH's right before the wedding. At the time, I laughed and said something along the lines of if everything FH and I have fought about up to now have been lil' arguments, our BIG ONE will definitely be like WW3!
Since I'm nearing my 1 month mark, the girl who started the conversation emailed me and asked if I survived the big argument yet, so now I'm curious: how many of you had that ONE BIG, all-out argument right before the wedding and was it around 1 month before?

Re: the BIG one (argument)?
our 'big one' happened about 6 months before the wedding. we had been looking at houses, and found one that we both agreed on, but you know with the prices now, it wasn't my 'dream house'... so i critized it, refused to talk to DH about anything to do with mortgage or anything, didn't go to closing... i was a total *itch! DH and i didn't talk for almost a week because i just had such an attiude about the whole thing. i think a lot of it was that i just had to get used to the idea that our first house wasn't gonna be my 'dream' house, and it took my awhile to get passed that. thank god DH stuck with me through it- now, that we've done most of the remodeling that we want to do, i'm really happy with the house- its small, but perfect for us right now and because its a rancher, theres lots of potential to add on if we decide to...

Re: the BIG one (argument)?
we had our BIG argument at the end of january, so that would make it 6 months before the wedding. it was a bad fight, and what made it even harder was that we did it all over the phone, b/c he wasnt in NY then. he came for a visit 2 weeks later, and i was so scared, that we were going to fight or break up, but we were fine.
we only fight a lot when we are apart. we have finally said that the distance (he is in australia, i am here) makes us fight, and we understand that.
the cause of the fight was about the wedding and stress.

Re: the BIG one (argument)?
what is the 'BIG ONE' usually about? We have had minor arguments here and there, but nothing huge. I can't even imagine us getting into something HUGE.

Re: the BIG one (argument)?
Sorry to say I'm going thru this now (some of you saw my post a few days ago). It's been 3 days since I spoke to FH & he's been staying at his parents house. Personally I think 95% is due to wedding stress & reality hitting him.
It's the worst feeling though...I have a knot in my stomach & HATE this
Less than 3 months to go

Yeah, and the things people say to you to freak you out one month before your wedding. How nice, lol.
we had the 'big one' the night before the wedding! but everything was fine, it happens because of all of the stress and emotions during the last few months before the wedding.
