At my shower a few weeks ago, one of the married girls I was talking to asked if FH and I have had the 'big' one yet: the big argument. She said it usually takes place 1 month before the big day and is the ugliest, most blown up argument a couple has ever had prior to walking down the aisle.
Several other married women chimed in and agreed that they all had a major blow-up with their FH's right before the wedding. At the time, I laughed and said something along the lines of if everything FH and I have fought about up to now have been lil' arguments, our BIG ONE will definitely be like WW3!
Since I'm nearing my 1 month mark, the girl who started the conversation emailed me and asked if I survived the big argument yet, so now I'm curious: how many of you had that ONE BIG, all-out argument right before the wedding and was it around 1 month before?

Haven't hit it yet, but now I'm really scared!!
Seriously tho, we had 'the BIG one' while we were still dating. It almost broke us up but it showed us how much we really felt about each other and instead of breaking up we got engaged!! Been happy ever since!!

I don't think we'll have one either, FH has never even gets angry, I'm usually the emotional freak. LOL

I'm knocking on wood that FH doesn't do anything to piss me off between now and the end of next week!

Yeah, and the things people say to you to freak you out one month before your wedding. How nice, lol.

first of all, what a nice topic to bring up at YOUR shower!! i'll have to add that in with bridal bingo and my sister's shower in may!! i mean, i'm laughing but that's a terrible thing to say!!
and secondly, not everyone has that-- i know people that have and many who have not, it all depends on who you are and i think you guys will be great! any bumps that do come up, i'm sure you'll handle very well... maybe even better now that you are trying to avoid this type of a fight!
HTH, good luck and think positive

Re: the BIG one (argument)?
i KNOW fh and i will have one...we've bickered about little things while planning but i'm expecting the stress in the final month to hit us. especially because we also plan on moving right before the wedding and that will add to the stress. no biggie though, it's not like we've never had an argument before. we'll kiss and makeup and all will be great!
i'm actually an advocate for arguments because it gets everything out in the open. it's not healthy to keep in things that bother you. because one day you will just explode and then you'll have a BIG problem!

I laughed then and I'm laughing now! I find couples that don't fight at all abnormal; just cuz we're arguing doesn't mean we don't love each other and fights over wedding plans are bound to happen.
I just don't want to have a fight 1 month beforehand to prove this girl right!

FH and I didn't have an argument before the wedding. He did make me cry a few days before - but I was very emotional that week.

JMHO~ It sounds like she's trying to scare you whether she's trying to be funny or not but I think I might be slightly irritated. It's one thing to make the initial comment but then to follow it up with an email would annoy me. There are way too many other important things in life than wait around for 'The Big One'.
Edited b/c I can't spell!!

yeah exactly, fights are so normal and healthy as long as people dont go crazy but who wants to have one so that all the debbie downer's from your shower can be like TOLD YOU SO!!
even if you do lie and say you didn't!!! LOL... but fights are so normal and healthy and it does help to get it ALL out and then you feel better afterwards... and usually it helps solve things that were bugging you!
