I enjoy a good debate and exchange of ideas. I HATE the name calling.

Re: THE BOARDS HAVE GONE MAD!!!
It just deeply saddens me that it's always the same people that take things to a completely different level and make things personal or try to push their beliefs on others, and it has such a chilling effect on intellectual discourse on the topics that are so important.
People are entitled to different opinions and open discussions are a wonderful learning tool, but why can't certain adults recognize that there are specific people that they should just ignore, no matter how much they bother them?

chilling effect
You must be a lawyer. Isn't it scary how they drill those phrases into our heads to the point that we use them in normal conversation.

Well, that certainly wasn't my intent to sound like a lawyer.
Please, I can't even fight with FH without him telling me to stop cross-examining him (even when I'm not) and he usually winds up saying something along the lines of, 'I can't give you specific examples. I don't have your proof. I didn't know I was going to be on trial.'

LOL!! My DH says the same thing. And it is always this very frustrated, head shaking shout 'Stop cross-examining me' I tell him that is nothing and he should be relieved that I don't have him up on the stand.

That's basically what I say: 'Believe me, you'd know if I was cross-examining you. You'd be the little puddle of mush in the corner right about now.'
