I am getting married in July 2007 at The Bourne Mansion. I have never been to a wedding there before so I am a little nervous. I had some? If anyone could help me answer would help a lot.
How is the food? Was there enough food at the cocktail hour? (I have a picky Italian family) Ben told me that I could fit about 250 in the ballroom. That is probably how many people I will have. I really don’t want to seat my guest in that sunroom. Did anyone have a band; if so was the high ceilings an issue? Was there an echo?
How was the bakery they suggested to use (Black Forest)? Thank you for your help!!!
P.S - If anyone has pics from their wedding at The Bourne I would love to see them.

Re: The Bourne Mansion
i got married at the bourne mansion and had a band
we ended up with a 190 only - i thought we were going to have more and have to use the sun room but we didn't need to
my band did not echo -they had played there before - they sounded grat when the room was empty and full - the band sets up very long so to maximize the dance floor
as for food -there was planty - cocktail hour had tons around - part of my family is italian and they were very happy
Here's my Bourne Mansion review with pics. I had 175. Honestly, I think 250 will be a little crowded - you will probably have to use the sun room. There was tons of food! Don't worry - you wil have a great day!
I went to Backinneyork's wedding at Bourne and the food was incredible! From the cocktail hour through dessert, everthing was top notch. And it's such a beautiful space too - your guests will love it

Re: The Bourne Mansion
I can't even begin to say enough wonderful things about the Bourne. We did not have a ton of people, so I can't really comment on how tight it would be, but the food was out of this world. I've been to some Lessing's halls where I have not been blown away by the food, but the Bourne is in a whole class of its own. Almost a year later, I still have people raving about the amazing food and the atmosphere. It was quite honestly the best money I've ever spent. I would not hesitate to do it again!
I just got married at the Bourne Mansion and I couldn't have asked for anything more. We were blown away, as were our guests, with how beautiful everything looked, the service, and the quality and quantity of food!! You really get what you pay for at the Bourne Mansion and you shouldn't have one single worry . They will take excellent care of you. In fact, welcome to the club!!! I consider anyone who gets married at the Bourne Mansion to be one of the luckiest girls around. Good Luck!!! I'll be posting my review with pictures soon!!!

Re: The Bourne Mansion
I've been to a few weddings there and yes, it is gorgeous! My only criticism is the bathroom situation. I went to a pretty large wedding there once and at one point I literally spent a half hour on the bathroom line. But other than that I thought it was amazing.

Re: The Bourne Mansion
HI, I am getting married there this Nov. so I can give my review but I did go for a tasting and it was delicious. I too was worried about the echo but I am using a dj that has worked there many times. I also spoke to Steve the MD at the bourne and He was helpful with that aspect. So far my dealings with the bourne have been great!! I can't wait to get married there.
