The Bourne Mansion
I am writing this review because I want to express just how perfect of a day our wedding at the Bourne Mansion was.......
My husband and I visited several places in search of the perfect place to have our wedding reception. I don't remember how many we had seen before going to see the Bourne, but after that none of them measured up for us. We just kept looking because of the distance and of course, the price. This being said, we had to follow our hearts and booked our wedding!
I'm not going to get into how much we paid for what, weddings are expensive no matter where you have it. But we saved by having our wedding on a Friday. Here are some details about our wedding.... We opted for the sit down dinner, an extra hour added onto our event, an ice sculpture, and the lighting package. As far as the menu choices go, we did not add anything with an additional cost. We didn't bother with any of the other extras such as a chocolate fountain, vienese table, popcorn, shrimp, seafood bar, martini station etc.... But believe me, there was plenty of food and noone was left hungry!
Ok now onto our day.....
As soon as we entered the mansion we were blown away by just how perfect everything was. I had brought decorations to be dispersed throughout such as pictures, vases, candles, and the staff picked great spots for them. Everything looked beautiful, like a dream. The main room blew us away and brought tears to my eyes. The room looked better than we had anticipated it would.
Having worked in the industry for many, many years I was hoping for good service not just to my husband and I, but to all of our guests. We were treated so well, it was amazing. I had people coming up to me, and still do actually, telling me how wonderful the waitstaff, the food, the decor, the entire day as a whole was.
I hope that any of you who choose the Bourne mansion are lucky enough to have Steve as your maitre'd. He was absolutely wonderful. Very personable and charismatic, without any of the fakeness. Apparently, he was everywhere that night. I was amazed by how many of our guests knew him by name. From bridesmaids to parents to guests to family members, all had many, many compliments about him. It wasn't just him doing an amazing job running the show either. He took it way above and beyond. He somehow made sure everyone was happy and having a good time. For example, one of our bridesmaids was feeling a little ill, and he set her up for a nap in the bridal suite!! After that she was ready to go! We thoroughly enjoyed our wedding. Steve had it so that we got our food first, and then we were able to visit with all of the tables as they ate. We didn't miss a thing!!!!
I really felt the need to write a review of the Bourne Mansion because our day there, really went on without a hitch. And we were anticipating something would go wrong and had just accepted that. But, it was just perfect. We're hoping someone will have their wedding there so we can go back! As far as I'm concerned, it was well worth it. I can honestly say it was the best day of my life!
