The bride singing at her own wedding- ever been to one?
Original post by GettinHutched
And don't say you saw Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey sing to each other at THEIR wedding!
Seriously, I don't know what to do. I'm getting a bit of pressure to sing. i sing at everyone else's weddings so I was hoping I wouldn't have to sing at mine! FH won't pressure me of course, but I hear it constantly from family.
Have you been to weddings where this has happened? At the ceremony? Reception?
I'm not sure I can do it at the church- I think I'd be a wreck. Especially if I sang 'One Hand One Heart'
At the reception, we have a DJ...kinda lame to sing with a karaoke recording, no? And what the heck would I sing??
So I really just wanted to know if anyone's been to a wedding where the bride/groom sang. Thanks!

BTW - One hand, One heart is on our short list for our first dance song. My parents song is 'There's a place for us'. My dad & I share an intense love for West Side Story!

I'm actually singing a song to my Fh at our wedding. I'm having a DJ too and I'm not quite sure how I'm doing it yet. I'm not quite sure what I'm singing but I'm leaning more toward 'Because You Loved me' or 'At Last'. I don't think its cheesy at all and my mom and FH really want me to do it. I may use a karaoke CD but it should be ok. I say if you like to sing, you should go for it because its your day. I wanted to do something special just for him from me.

Its your wedding and I think you should do what you want. Even if I could sing, I would not want to sing at my wedding. I want to have fun! It would be nice if someone else sang to you and your husband.

Man I would so sing to FH if I could sing!! But if you don't feel comfortable, don't do it. The pre-recorded song is a good idea. I was in a wedding where the bride sang to the groom and my cousins husband sang to her as she was walking down the aisle. Not a dry eye in the house.

I am a talented singer and I will NOT sing at my own wedding simply because I know I will be too emotional and break down in the middle of a song. I am too much of a perfectionist and I know everyone will be expecting the best of me when I do sing. So here is what I am doing...I am going to a recording studio and I am recording these two songs so far....shania twain from this moment for our first dance, and there youll be by faith hill for husband and mom dance! Brilliant I wll have dj just announce that this is recorded by your very own bride dedicated to...........

I am thinking of the same thing. My family hasn't been pressuring to much. Every now and then I get asked if I'm going to sing, but I think I want to just not LIVE because I really don't know how I'm going to act that day. Also, I really don't feel comfortable singing in front of people. I love it, but I get very, very nervous and I rather not have that added pressure that day.
