The cake problem

Okay last year I want to Twoty and for those of you who don't know what it is ..it's great it's a day were LIW putting together a wedding and they have prizes and its a great time and of course you meet everyone from the boards...so I decided to put my tickets in to win a a free cake ...and I found out I won it....so happy so the first thing I did was to call her it was Sweet Melissa Cakes ....for about I would say 3 months straight we had problems meeting due to FH job and the hurricane and then she moved to a different place ...she i would say in January we finally met and when over all the cake options we had and I loved it!!! So excited and I know it was going to look great!!! Well I have not heard from her in a while and as I was going to call her I was just doubling checking my email and to my surprise she emailed me this....

Hi Erin,

I have some rather bad news. Due to circumstances beyond my control Sweet Melissa's Cakes has closed. I am deeply sorry to have to give you this news as it saddens me to have to close my doors. I wish you nothing but the best on your wedding day and also in your marriage. It was truly a pleasure to have met you.

Sincerely,

Melissa

Are u kidding me!!!! Two weeks before my wedding and u do this???? No phone call nothing a email ...I'm soooo pissed off and to top it off her website is still up and FB page.....it's a vendor that is on here and just want everyone to be aware of it.....it's really not fair to me to have to worry about now getting a cake two weeks bf the wedding ....

The cake problem

Wow that is so shady, I am sorry you are going thru this. On the bright side better now than just having her flake on your wedding day. Not sure of her availability as she usually likes to book at least 3 months in advance but I am using The Sweet Peace in Lynbrook and Allison is phenominal. Maybe she can work with you if you explain your situation. Good luck!

The cake problem

Also if her facebook page is still up I would totally make a public complaint on there. Hopefully other people will see it and not use her. Also maybe complain to liweddings admin, maybe they can kick her off the site or something.

well if sh doesn't have a business anymore she has no reason be on here.

Who does that anyway!! I mean I get you want/ have to close your doors but the least she could have done was finish out her contracts! I mean its cake. She could bake it in her house for you!!

Maybe her reason for not being able to do that is because it's not actually legal to do that. Any food you sell has to be prepared in a licensed kitchen and I don't think it's quick to get that done.
Even still you would think she would have known more than TWO WEEKS before your wedding that she was closing!!! I'd be freaking out a little too! And it sucks to have had something picked out and all.

The cake problem

I would also write a review on wedding wire.
Did you contact Francisco's yet? Sandy was very easy to work with and I know you will be just as happy with a new pick.

She could have done it from her house I know people that do .. At least my dam cake ....what I'm not understanding is why she waited sooooo long to tell me plus no call .... That really pisses me off ...I did say something to Kim too...but I'm really hurt and I met with sandy today and bc it's so close to wedding he can't really make what I want this just sucks overall I was crying and FH felt so bad and he wants to make me happy but the cake we r getting in short notice is just ok ...not what I was thinking at this point I really don't want one .. Bc it has nothing to do with my theme and I really want the cake to stand out and this one will just be another boring cake
