What a fun couple of days going to all the car dealerships - not!!!
Monday afternoon we went to a Honda dealership and was looking into the civic. We had it out with the salesman, the FYI guy and we ended up walking out of there, really mad....I wont mention the name of the dealer.
Tuesday we went to Saturn to look at the ION, Chevy to look at the Cobalt, Mazda to look at the 3's, and Kia to Look at the New Sportgage.
Wednesday we looked at the Corolla S. Danielle loves it and thats the car she wants to break her lease for. Now we have to pray we can get a good payment for her new car.
Her car she is trying to get out of is very low mileaged and that has a lot to do with why the dealerships are interested in buying her car back. For a 2002 civic it only has 21,760 miles on it...and that is very low for a 3 year old car.
Anyway we went to the Toyota dealer yesterday, and I saw the car I want. The SCION XB. They had a bright yellow one which is a limited production model. They were only making 2500 this year. That isnt the one I want though. I want an XB with cd player and an automatic. I want dark red, Dark blue, or White. Danielle says the white one looks like a milk truck....I love it.
Anyone own one here????

Re: The Car Search
My SIL has had 1 for a year now and she has had no problems with it. I love it. It's very roomy and pretty inexpensive. She just put new rims and tinted the windows. If I needed to buy a car I would probably buy that or the tC model.

I have an XB. I actually have the first XB sold on Long Island( DH works for a Toyota Dealership). I got silver, but in hindsight I think I should have gotten the dark mettalic blue. I love it. I drive over 40 miles to & from work everyday & I only fill the tank once. Also it is good in bad weather, AND the back seat is big enough to fit 3 of my co-workers, one of which is a 6'2' 275 lb guy...and I never have to move my seat up to accomodate him
AND, there are sooooooo many options for it, and a ton of after-market upgrades you can do to customize it

OH ya...She has an XB? I love it.........Danielle says she wouldnt ride in it...She says we would look ridiculous in it....I sat in one yesterday, and I could not believe how much room was in it...In the drivers seat and in the back seat.
I dont want to customize it in any way...I grew out of that...Its too expensive and always leads to problems.

Re: The Car Search
my BIL has one and it's quite the nice car. It is considered a 'station wagon' and is quite roomy inside. Smooth ride also. He LOVES it. He has the black one. For the money, that's probably your best bet!!!
Also...FYI when buying a 'limited edition' color or suped up model, your resale goes WAY down. Because it's limited, no dealer really wants it when being turned in.

Re: The Car Search
Im not going to buy the limited edition color...I wouldnt want a yellow car.
The dealer was Westbury Toyota. I wouldnt buy the SCION there if I did get it.
What dealer does your husband work at?

Scott, CanI be honest?
I always laugh at those cars. They are SO boxy! Danille is right, it does look like a milk truck. But hey, if that's your thing. . .I think people like them b/c they aren't just them same old thing.
Good mileage is a good thing though.

I can respect that. It's the same reason I don't wear black to weddings & other events.

Re: The Car Search
Oh my God, my parents just bought this car last week. We were hysterical. My DH says he can picture a bunch of clowns jumping out of it. :) However, after the inital shock wore off, we really like it! It was just do different looking it was funny.
However, that is my Dad, he loves the unusual. :) It is gets GREAT gas mileage and is an inexpensive car! I would go for it, Scott. Just please don't get yellow. It reminded me of a school bus. My parents got silver! :) Good Luck!
