Re: The Carltun in East Meadow......

I'm sorry to say that I don't go by that rule. If we go to a wedding we give between 300 and 350 no matter where they have it.

Hey Nic!! I dont like that rule either but its my Fh friend and thats what he thinks we should give, what they paid per-plate. I think you give what you could give. and $300-$350 is a nice amount to give

Re: The Carltun in East Meadow......

Beautiful place. It should never be based on how much per plate! that's ridiculous. You give what you can afford.

If it was $300/pp would you give $600? Granted if you could afford that good for you, but nobody should be looking to pay for their wedding based on gifts.

Give what you can afford and what you think is appropriate, but don't base it on the cost of the plate.

Re: The Carltun in East Meadow......

Hey... I'm getting married at the Carltun on a friday night and am paying $165pp plus tax & gratuity.... the quote they gave me for a saturday night was $210pp w/o tax or gratuity. Honestly... give what you can afford... i think giving a good friend $300 - $350 is more than sufficient... if your FH wants to give what they paid per plate then you're looking at a gift in the $400-$500 range.
