The Couch to the 5K

The Couch to the 5K

Has anyone ever tried this? I get so out of breath while trying to run... my doctor said that some people just CAN'T run but I hate being told I CAN'T do something. For those of you who run is this a good program to follow?

Couch to the 5k

I do need to go back to the gym but I get so bored so I need a goal... FH has run marathons and I'm a lazy bum who gets out of breath walking up a flight of stairs... I was thinking of trying this and then signing the both of us up for a 5k without telling him, he'll be shocked...

I have never heard of that but, I also HATE to run. I HATED it my whole life, the caps repesent some serious feelings lol. I also have asthma which makes it even harder. In January I started working out on a regular basis and doing at least 30 mins of cardio three times a week but usually i would do more switching to all the differnt cardo machines. I would focus on the amount of time I stayed on bc I disliked the whole process so much. I noticed a few weeks ago that I am going sooo much faster then I used to, seriously like half of my mile time from high school. If you pick a goal you can def do it!!!!

IDK if this helps at all but I hope it did!

I have done the Couch to 5 K...but I never got to the 5K all running. I like it bc it is intervals. I am so NOT a runner....There are also free podcasts you can download that are helpful.

I've seen it before, but never tried it. I would love to be able to run- I love running. I do it at the gym but I'm not supposed. I have very bad ankles (on my left ankle two bones are fused together) and they suseptible to breaks easily. I wish I could do that.

Never tried it but the one thing that has really helped me on the treadmill is having a tv in front of it, i get so rapped up in a show that an hour goes by in no time.

I too have to get back at the gym However, I did want to tell you that a couple of years ago I went to a podiatrist. (achilles problems no funky fungi) and the dr was checking my feey and legs out and told ME that I hated running. I said Yeah and she said I can tell.... your legs and ankles aren't made for it. I have ALWAYS hated running but at least now I have a medical excuse. Perhaps others have the same issue and don't know it.. maybe your legs just aren't made for running! GL Tuesday!

My doc actually told me I have sports induced asthma... which I really think just translates into I am way out of shape and am kind of lazy... I also have a rod screwed into my spine from when I had my scoliosis corrected 4-5 years ago... but I try not to let that stop me from doing things...
