One of FH's good friend is married. We usually go to dinner with them on the weekends and usually hang out with them. The rest of FH's friends can't hold g/f's.

Re: The Couple thing
We are blessed to have SEVERAL couples we hang out with. Many have been together as long as we have (7 years) and some we have met through the years. I love all the girls and FI gets along great with all the males.

Re: The Couple thing
All our friends are coupled but they always claim we are poor when we ask to go out! Kind a pi$$es me off cause I know some of them are sitting on money and just don't do anything!! We have one couple that comes dancing with us all the time. FH and I have made a pact-we will continue to live our social life after we wed. Just because we have rings on our fingers doesn't mean we should become couch potatoes!
Hey Keisha we can hang out if ya want!

Re: The Couple thing
There's 3 couples that we do a lot with. 2 live up in CT and are married with children. (We usually go up to CT twice a month to spend time with them.) The other couple is on Long Island.
Surprisingly, my FH and I don't really hang out with with my sister and her boyfriend. They're kinda' in their own little world.

Re: The Couple thing
We have a few. My g/f's are in relationships - where the guys never want to do anything. But, we hang out with his guy friends who are (for most of them) in a relationship (either dating or engaged)

Re: The Couple thing
This is ironic. Listen to this story from one of my designers. After 23 yrs of marriage, they got divorced. Reason being their lives as a couple became routine. They didn't do anything anymore always stuck in the house. And when they tried to do something, the laziness kicked in and it was just let go.
AND she told me that this has happened to many of her friends. Its after menopause that many women have felt the need for a change in their boring, routine of a lifestyle with the same person.
So she tells me don't EVER let that happen to you and Carl. Enjoy yourselves as much as possible. Even when you have kids enjoy life and do stuff. Go out even if its alone or walks or drive around and visit sites. But DO NOT just sit in the house day after day. Don't let yourself get comfortable that way. You should always have excitement, surprises in your relationship. She wasn't talking sexual either.
Totally took me by surprise of her situation and I thought of this thread when I talked to her today.

Re: The Couple thing
Wanda, your post completely woke me up. Lately I HAVE been very lazy not wanting to go out. We still go to the movies now and then, we are going tonight, but lately I see myself wanting to stay home more.
I guess I have to get my Butt in gear.
Thanks for posting this.

Re: The Couple thing
Some of our friends just completely ended their social life after they got married. I love FH to death, but I can't surround my entire life around him. I need to go out. Its been a part of me all my life. And seeing my parents go out so much makes me want to do it too. This is one of the traits I love about my parents I look at my parents and their life hasn't changed one bit. If anything they go out more now than when me and my sis were younger. Understandable, but I remember them always doing stuff together. Going out to dinner with friends, going to parties, going away with us as a family and them two alone with their brothers and sisters. This is why I told Carl we are NOT becoming couch potatoes!!
