Is there a particular couple (s) that you and FH/DH hang out with consistently- whether it be going on trips, bowling , dinner, dancing?
We never have had one consistent couple. Our Friends never seem to stay in relationships too long, but we have had quite a few couples that have come and gone. Presently we do not have one.

Re: The Couple thing
We presently don't have one either and it's frustrating..... My best friend and MOH is engaged, but they live about 30min. away and we are always on diff. schedules.... His friends that are married/engaged/dating all live about an hour away.....

Re: The Couple thing
We have 3 couples we spend a bit of time with.
The first 2 are my sister & her BF with another couple we know through them
And lately we have been spending time with DH's BM's honorary brother and his wife.

Re: The Couple thing
we do. our best man who is married to my matron. Tim and Grace. When Tim and Grace lived up here in NY (they live in FL now) every sunday we had Psycho Sunday Bowling. We would meet at 3pm (and a few other friends) bowl under nicknames and before we knew it, 9pm was rolling around and we couldnt see the pins. We even bowled on Easter.
We did everything with them. We did bike runs with them, parties, bowling, everything.
Then they moved to FL We have gone down 2 times to see them. But we bought land 6 blocks from them and next year will have a house built. So it will be just like old times again when we are down there. Probably the only difference we'll have a pool and they dont so we'll catch timmy floating in our pool with bacardi and coke in one hand and probably the remote to our big screen tv in the other.

We have a 2 couples - we do most things with...but both just moved out of MYC (Westchester and CT) so we don't see them much anymore...sad. Most of my and DH's friends are coupled off...so we always try to make plans with someone..put as you get older it's tougher....

Re: The Couple thing
We hang out with our best man and his wife all the time. They've been married for 10 years and DH has known them since he moved here 5years ago.
When we're out on Long Island we hang out with my girlfriend from high school and her husband (they've been togehter for over 10 years, since she was 17) and now that my MOH has 'sort of' found someone, we hang out with them as well.

Re: The Couple thing
We had a couple thing going for a while, then we went on vacation together and lets just say...it ended the friendship. I lost a great friend cause his girlfriend was a psycho! IT's been two years! But our MOH and Best Man are dating, so it is fun that our best friends and with each other. WE couple date with them obviously.

We dont have one either.
All of our close friends are either a) single or b) have SOs that come and go c) have SO's that are difficult to be around.
We totally need 'couple' friends!!

Re: The Couple thing
DH and I were just talking about this the other day! We have a few friends that are recently married, but not everyone lives too close by, and I find that we get caught up with the mundane everyday tasks of the weekend, so we don't make an effort as much as we should. My DH doesn't think we need to spend as much time with other couples as I do. I think it's really nice to have a few other couples to spend time with - it can be so much more exciting!! I have been trying to make more of an effort lately though
edited to say that it's also hard to find other couples that you have things in common with, or really enjoy their company. I too lost a good friend back in college to his GF - I didn't care for her at all, and it basically ended our friendship. It's sad.

Re: The Couple thing
I was just thinking about that, b/c we had the video night at out house, hubby has friends that are married but they are so much older than I am and for us to do things together on a regular basis I do not know how comfortable they would be. I think its cool to have couples night, but it seem as if we are the ones that are always making the effort. When hubby was single they were always inviting him places...who knows. A lot of my friends are single or with someone so its never a problem for them to come over and do things with us. It always ends up being my friends and us. He does not seem to mind b/c they are all fun

Most of our friends are couples... but I would say the couple we hang out with the most is my brother and his girlfriend

Re: The Couple thing
We had more 'couple' friends when we were in CA. I have a lot of married friends here in NY, but it becomes even harder to socialize on a regular basis when you have a child. Most couples who are childless don't always understand the challenge of finding a babysitter, or not being able to do something every single weekend.

Re: The Couple thing
We don't have couple friends but would like to have them... Most of mine and his friends are single, and the few in relationships we don't like one or the other half of the pair, so we don't hang out as much with them...
commenting on Claud's post, we have a couple who have just had a baby and they are extremely busy, which is why we dont hang out with them... But would like to.
