So the other day, as were shutting down our computers, she sighs a huge, dramatic sigh and I take the bait:

Me: What's wrong?

C.McC: My boyfriend.

Me: Oh?

C.McC: Yeah, my boyfriend's jealous of the time I spend with my husband.

Me: (Stoney silence while my synapses cease to fire)

C.McC: See, my husband is too busy to sign the divorce papers that the lawyer drew up with the lie that he's telling for us. So I helped my husband run errands the other day, so he'd sign the papers. We ended up getting drunk and getting a motel room.

Me: Oh...

C.McC: So my boyfriend doesn't know but he's jealous.

Me: Yeah...

Oh, she told me the lie like 2 weeks ago! The lawyer is saying the grounds for divorce are 'sexual abandonment', i.e. they haven't had sex in a year. Evidently, that makes the divorce quicker? Easier? More eye-roll-inducing?

Not having sex for a year is a ground for divorce. Are they not contesting the divorce? Technically they just lost their ground
