I'm not having children at my reception either ... So far, anyone I've spoken to about this was happy, they'd rather enjoy themselves at the wedding, not chase after their kids!

totally agree. I don't understand why people wouldn't be excited to have a nice night away from the kids. Hire a babysitter, or recruit a family member for the night!

Were not doing kids w the exception of the girls I've been babysitting for ten years. They're in hs n one in sixth. N my nephew who is eleven, two nieces who r ten and six bc they're in the wedding. My three yr old niece who is also in the wedding is being picked up aftervthe church.

I'm not allowing small children either, except for my nieces and nephews. I don't want babies running around and crying, not my idea of fun and I'm sure other people would feel the same way if it was their wedding!

This has caused so many issues for me as well. We hired a babysitter to watch the babies during the reception thinking that would help, but it only caused more problems because then my family wanted to know what we plan to do about older kids. NOT invite them! That's what I plan to do!

i know its annoying but how old are the children? if they are all from out OOT and they will be here for more than a day, you should expect them to bring the kids w them (to NY) maybe see if you can set up a special night for the kids that the parents can drop them off (and parents pay!) for a babysitter or someone who can entertain the kids all night. this way everyone is happy and they dont feel the need to not come bcause they dont have a babysitter
