the few days before the big day

guess this question is more for past brides, but what did you do the few days prior to the big day?

were you totally crazy with a million things? or did you have some down time?

im trying to figure out when i should go for my mani pedi and such. my nails are really bad (nail polish does not stay on for anything), so i need to go the day before, but am i going to be too busy??? also wanted to squeeze in a massage...

I'd be careful about doing a massage the day before the wedding. When I go, they tend to get some of the oils into my hair. I wasn't supposed to wash my hair the day before the wedding so that it would hold the style better. If I had massage oil in my hair, it would not have been pretty!

I worked until the Thursday before the wedding, so I only had one day off before. I did have quite a bit of running around. I got a mani/pedi, ran to the store and the bank to get ready for the HM, packed, etc. If you have more time off, it would be easier to spread those things out.

I was surprisingly calm, after we dropped off the stuff at the RH, there was really nothing else that needed to be done! I enjoyed that time with my DH, acutally we went together the day before our wedding for a mani/pedi and then he dropped me off at my sisters house where she had my mom and all my sisters (I have 8) there for some apps and wine. It was nice.

Also, I didnt leave for my honeymoon until 5 days after the wedding, which allowed me time after the wedding to get the last minute things and packed.

It was busy but there was some downtime.

I worked until Tuesday. The wedding was Saturday. Tuesday night was my final drop-off at the RH, Wednesday I went into NYC to get my legs, bikini and underarms waxed and a massage, Thursday got my eyebrows done, ran around for wrapping paper for the BP gifts, etc.

The day before (Friday) was the craziest and I was running around like a maniac making sure I had everything together because I was packing for the wedding night and the night before (I stayed at my mom's the night before). It was also mani/pedi day and the rehearsal and RD.

Plus, we had a lot of OOT guests come in and I wanted to spend some time with them so it was very hectic but it all got done and I was thankful for the HM afterwards!

I didn't even pack for the HM unti the day after the wedding! (We got married Saturday and left Monday so I had Sunday to pack).

Make sure all of your none last minute things are done prior to the week before the wedding!
You dont know what can unexpectedly happen and you dont want to be completely stressed.

Trust me, I know first hand that unexpected things do happen. I am so happy that I had practically everything done.

PS - I got my nails done the day before & it was fine. Relaxing actually.

we all got our nails done the night before..the ony plce we had to go that day was to the florist to see our bo-ks an made sure we loved them

the few days before that were a liilte crazy..picked up my dress..tuxes..dropeed all stuff off at rh

packed stuff for church,partybus etc etc
