There are three Long Beach Fire Department turkcs on my street and I can hear them over the loudspeaker. They're in my building but they haven't told anyone to leave yet. I just wnet into my hallway and saw one of them and asked what the problem was - they hesitated and then said apparently there is a reported smell of gas - but not on my floor.
What a nice way to end the weekend. I'm freaking out. Ok I am going outside.

Re: The Fire Department is Here!!!
I'm back. Nobody was saying anything but from what I could gather there was a smell coming from the first floor. Apparently they never gave the super a set of keys and I guess they went this afternoon and left their oven on (I'm assuming by mistake) - and the pilot light porbably went out or something like that.
That scared the heck out of me. Just in case I'm leaving my windows OPEN tonight. Hahaha.
Oh well I have to see the positive side: at least I got to see some cute firefighters outside !
