The FLOWER GIRL Thread!!!!!!!!!

Original post by SFP0214

I don't know if this has been done before... BUT I would love to start a flower girl thread where we can put all of our our flower girl ideas. i.e., Dress, flowers, headpieces etc.

This is the pattern for the flower girl dresses my mom is making. NO puffy thing like the picture though. It will be ivory bridal satin with an ivory embroidered chiffon overlay on the skirt that will mimic my dress. There is more embroidery on the bottom and it becomes more scarce as it moves up the dress. The top will just be the satin and there will be a back tying bow the same color as the BM dresses.
This is sort of what we want to make for the flower girls to carry.
I have no idea what to do with thier headpices or not to do....
I look forward to great ideas from you ladies though!

Okay, let me ask this. Where have you girls bought the fg dresses from? Do we really have to pay those crazy prices???

I looked in Tri-County Flea Market in the back...There is a vendor that sells christening outfits & also flower girl dresses...That is where I am getting ours...There were around $40. I can't see spending too much $$ considering my FG will only be 3!

I am also doing the kissing ball...

Here are mine:

I bought the dress on the one in the first and last pic on ebay for I think $30. You can't see the bottom in the photographer's pics, so I added the pic from ebay. The others their mother made, and I had NO say in how they looked.

Don't the FG's parents buy the dress? I'm totally all about having them spend as little as possible, but they do buy it, right? Like the BM's buy their's?

Re: The FLOWER GIRL Thread!!!!!!!!!

Here was our FG dress. I got it for about $22 in JC Penney during their after Easter sale. I totally recommend the department stores after Easter or Christmas since they usually have really cute dresses for cheap.

And yes, the FG's mom should buy the dress just like the BM's buy theirs - unless the Bride is paying for everybody's outfit.
