ok..so i just had a hair trial today...i was sooooo excited bc i heard great things about the girl. the overall concept of what she did was what i wanted. and it looked nice. but the bump behind my tiara was a little frizzy looking. and my curls fell out right after i left the salon. (although, i am an idiot and flat ironed my hair today when i straightened it for the trial so thats prob why that happened.)
also..i was planning on buying a hair piece that is $200 ($$$ to begin with)..she insisted that i buy a piece from her bc she custom makes them..and said it would be about $300.
plus i already just spent $100 on the trial.
I just made an appt for a trial with my friend's hair girl.
i really dunno what to do...besides refer back to a post i made a few weeks ago that stated...............................I AM GOING TO SHAVE MY HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is the last picture how the curls fell? I cant belive they came out that much..it must have been because u straightened it right?
I think that before that happened your hair looks awesome! who did it?

I am worried too, though, that my curled clip in extensions will fall out like that!! How long after your trial was that? I dont think theres much you can do but spray it to death, did she spray it alot??
I have to say you did look very pretty in those trial pics, even when youre curls are falling!

I think it's looks nice b/f the curls came out. But my lady definetly stressed to me to NOT flat iron that day, I'm sure that's what it was. BTW, where do you get you hi lights done, they look great!

hmm...I have a few thoughts/questions: How do you feel about buying her hair piece? Do you want to work with her again? If so, I'd give her a call and explain what happened and see if you could do a do over on a day that you haven't straightened your hair. (my hair is naturally curly, but whenever I straighten it, the curl takes FOREVER to get back to the right way) If that ends up being the cause, you may want to skip straightening for a few days before your wedding. If you DON'T want to use her, def. try out other people--I recommend M i a. She did my hair/makeup and I loved it. GL!

I can't believe your curls dropped the way they did.. BUT... on your wedding day, your hair should be washed the day before so that you have more texture.. My hair is very fine and I washed it on saturday and had curls on my Sunday wedding that lasted all day and all night.. I also had clip on extensions in my hair with real hair and it only cost me like $60 bucks if that..

i hear ya! I had my trial today & I didn't really like it. You don't know if you should keep throwing money away & trying other places or just hope it comes out good that day

I think it looked beautiful despite falling-I agree with the comment about elaving your hair a little 'dirty' so it holds the style better. BUT keep this in mind..as someone else said, dont waste a ton of money on trials because if people are in the biz, they pretty much know how to do all styles especially if its a pretty common one like you seem to be going for. I had one trial and on the big day my hair looked NADA Like the trial...I mean it still looked great but she changed the bangs and my hair had actually gotten longer so the style I was going for didn't work-ended up fuller.
Basically what I am saying is trials give you a rough estimate but if you go with someone who's well recommended and aren't trying to do something wild like fingerwaves or a vintage style, then just go with a reputabel person and have faith. It will turn out fine.

thanks for all the replies!!! as of right now i have another trial booked with my friend's stylist. my other friend has a friend (how confusing is this??!?!?) who has a great stylist & wants me to try her..but her friend who has the # is in FL until Monday so I will have to wait until she gets back to get the number.
i am so stressed i dunno what to do. i'm gonna go for other trials and see what happens. to me., my hair is a HUGEEEEE deal for the wedding & i dont want to settle...i want my hair to be FAB!!
the curls falling out was def my fault..i flat ironed my hair literally an hour before i went..i didnt realize that would have an adverse effect on the curls. oh well..lesson learned i suppose! now i know for next time.
i had emailed claudia pedala a while aho and she never got back to me. and i emailed jenn the hair genie and she was booked. soooo....i am doomed to have horrific hair on the day of my wedding! urghhhh!!!

at Studio V in Valley Stream...its right on merrick rd....the owner, Vicki does them....

i had them done the day before my trial.
Vicki is good...she does great color! I just wanted to try out other peeps for my wedding hair.
I should prob just give in & let her do it since she keeps asking me about it. Urghhhhh!

u said ur getting a hair piece? tri county has really nice ones for very good prices that's where i m getting mine. and yea it was def bc u flat ironed it that day so ur hair was very confused. lol but it looks pretty anyways!

my head piece is from thomas knoell...my friend who got married in june...we went together back in like march & split the cost...she wore it for her wedding & i am wearing it for mine.
unknown what we will decide to do with it after my wedding...haha!
as for the hair piece...thats ANOTHER thing that upset me at the hair trial...
my friend who got married in june got a hair piece from tri-county for like $215...i went there with her two weeks ago & tried it out..loved it...plan on going back & getting that one.
this hair lady from the other day says she wont put that in...she makes her own & insists i use the one she will custom make for me...for around $300!!!! so thats an extra $100 i will have to pay bc she wants me to use her hair?? my friend used the 'cheaper' piece for her wedding & her hair looked FABBBBBB!!! (joanna n jeff is her LIW name...check her albums out...hehe!)
