The having kids talk is depressing...

FH and I were talking about timeframe for having kids when it dawned on me...who's going to watch them while I work?
Everyone I know works and I can't leave them with grand parent/great grand parents cause they cant keep up.
We have to save a bazillion dollars (ok exaggerating) so we can afford for one of us (me) to stay home.
Together we make a decent salary but if only one of us works, we will struggle.

Don't think like that! I think we all go through the same thing. Just remember, things work out! You might have to struggle for a bit, I know I will too, but it will all work out.

My son is 4 and I've had him in daycare since he was 6 weeks old. It's not cheap, but I'm able to make a living. I hated it at first but then realized he is one of the most outgoing kids that I've ever known. He loves seeing his friends every day and it's made him incredibly social. I've had him in everything from a private daycare to a a big public one. He's in private daycare now and it's only about $30 a day. Some bigger daycares can be around $80 a day. It's not for everyone but don't forget that it is an option.

Good luck!

just focus on your wedding and worry about that after. i am sure when the time comes you both know you will be ready.

This is the #2 reason why we are waiting to start a family. Too many of my friends decided that they wanted to have kids & then once their maturnity leave was over then they realized they had no one to watch the babies.
In your situation you should just worry about the wedding right now. After you are married sit down with your FH & put a plan into motion. Figure out how long you ideally want to stay home & then determine how much money you need to save. Its easier to save over a couple of years before you have a baby then to worry about where the money is going to come from once you have a baby.
