The Inn at NHP & Larkfield Manor

Hi,

Has anyone been to a wedding at either of these two venues? How would they compare? FH and I went to visit both. Their prices were similar and both were very pretty. We haven't been to an affair at either locations and are looking for feedback.

The Inn at NHP & Larkfield Manor

I've been to a wedding at the Inn at New Hyde Park. I was in the bridal party and it was a pretty crazy night but it was a great wedding. The cocktail hour was crazy, (lobster, steak on rocks, pasta!), and there was also a viennese hour which was as really awesome. I remember there were seven choices for dinner, but don't remember eating it since I pretty much danced all night. All around it was a really fun wedding, I can't recall my cousin (the bride) having any qualms after the fact so I think it would be a good choice!
I don't have any experience with Larkfield, but it looks beautiful from the pics that I've seen.

The Inn at NHP & Larkfield Manor

No weddings at either but FH and I looked a both and loved them. The Inn has a really unique feel for their cocktail hour which we loved. For our date Larkfield was less expensive and just as pretty, but besides that they were on par. I've been told that Larkfield is adding a garden area though, so if that's important to you, that could be worth considering because I don't remember the Inn having one.

The Inn at NHP & Larkfield Manor

I've never been to the Inn at New Hyde Park (although it was at the top of my list, it didn't fit our budget so we didn't even tease ourselves with looking at it) but I have been to Larkfield. The place is obviously beautiful.. we didn't book there mostly because of the lack of outdoor space and the fact that we'd be in the smaller room which I didn't like as much as the bigger one. We went to a wedding there in June and the food was alright.. nothing like the sales person we met with was raving about.. they also definitely still have a few kinks to work out in regards to flow and timing. For instance, my FBIL and friend wanted to go outside to smoke.. they asked the man standing in the hall, who told them to go out to the patio where the ceremony was. Fine.. they go out there and there's another wedding ceremony happening! You sent two drunk guys out to crash someone else's wedding! Another thing I didn't love (which was completely out of their control) was that during the outdoor ceremony, the traffic can be heard on Larkfield Road and more than one ambulance came by, sirens blaring. Other than that, the bride and groom seemed happy with the service there and the place is gorgeous.

The Inn at NHP & Larkfield Manor

we had our wedding at larkfield, read my review
i agree with the timing issues - especially coming from a brides perspective

however the food is AMAZING and we did not notice larkfield road noise (even during rush hour).
