Ok, I know some of us LIwedding gals are also on The Knot. But, I was just browing there yesterday (I like to look at everyone's bios, don't post too much) on the Planning and Etiquette board, and OMG! These girls are fighting, cursing each other out, and telling each other that they are going to look ugly on their wedding day! I don't know ANY of the background to these fights, and I was laughing out loud in my office b/c I could not believe some of the posts I was reading.
So, no offense to the nice Knotties, but some of those chicks are insane!

Well don't go on the Planning board. We only use the LI board on the knot. I agree, they are crazy, but the LI Board, and us LIKNotties are amazing!! Trust me. You go to the local boards and then hit long island, NY. Completely different world!

I was a former knottie I didn't like the way the chat board is set up you never know when someone replied or not to something you wrote and alot of time you never got feedback. Also Some of the people on that are very very mean I like the boards here alot better and I will tell you everyone has been very nice and helpful

I thought the Knot boards were confusing. This board is great. I think everyone is supportive and helping eachother out. This is not a competition. Vendors charge around the same amount to everyone, depending on what you're asking for.

I didn't really like the knot either. The whole LIW page is so much better, prob cause it's all local. But basically I think it's cause Long Island rocks baby!

I'm a former knottie, well more so a lurker - some people are mean but they have a problem with 'trolls' people who pretend to be brides but arent that go around posting/saying dirty/nasty/mean things stealing peoples photos from their profile and i've been told some have crashed weddings!
I left when they reformatted I hate the new look and the constant video clips - I wish I knew about LIW earlier I just found out about this site in March!
I like knowing people from the same area and i think it really helps the planning process!

I am actually a knottie. I jump back and forth on both sites, posting. But I think lately I have posted more on here. I have not had a problem on the knot...however I don't go to the planning and etiquette board. I went browsing on there today and those girls are downright mean to each other. On this chat board and the Long Island chat on the Knot I have never encountered any one being mean. All of these girls are great and I am honored to be on these message boards with each and every one of you!

i'm really not crazy about the Knot. the girls are catty and immature, ot all, but some of them. i also don't like the format either, i like liw better.

I think I need to look at it for comic relief...I have heard that about theknot.com....if LI Weddings was like that I wouldn't be on here

The KNOT is DEFINITELY not User Friendly!! I tried searching for a couple of things there and just found it a complete HEADACHE! I won't stray from LIWed!!!

Wow...I can't believe they are that mean to each other. That's terrible! I have never went on the knot boards. I just go on there to look up dresses and other merchandise. I LOVE LIW. I couldn't see planning my wedding without you all!

Ladies from theknot and I got together this past weekend and they discussed it. I had to take a look for myself b/c I never went on there, but it seriously needs to stop. I can't believe how they haven't banned them!

The Long Island board is great over there, everyone is just as nice as this board.
Is there anyone taking a look at those awful posts? Like a web manager or something? It is horrible!
