The Larkfield Manor

Hi Ladies, Im new here but my sister just got married in May and swears by this wedsite and all the help that you have given her. I was wondering if anyone has heard good or bad about the Larkfiekd Manor. Im going to look at it tommorow. I just got engaged about three weeks ago so we have plenty of time to look around, but we are thinking about the winter of 2004 and from what I read from you ladies places are already booking up for 2005.

Re: The Larkfield Manor

My sister got married there in 1993 and my husband's cousin in 1996. From what I remember of the place, it was very nice. The food was good and the service was excellent. However I haven't been back since then so I couldn't advise you on current service. The only thing I sort of didn't like with my sister's wedding is that there was really no place to take pictures. They have a mini garden in the back but if it's raining, there's really no other place to take pictures. I think the price is reasonable as well.

Good luck and best wishes.

Re: The Larkfield Manor

Congratulations on your engagement! You will soon become addicted to this site!! I grew up by the LM, although I've never been there myself, its not recommended by anyone in the area. It has no grounds, its right on the road. Again, this is just a vague observation - I've never been there. I suggest you go and meet with them there and tasted the food. Good Luck!

Re: The Larkfield Manor

It is much nicer since they renovated it. The small room was too tight and the large room was too big for me. For the menu your guest get a choice of six entrees which was nice but not necessary for me as I would rather give them some else in place of that such as cordial bar, etc. Price was average.

Re: The Larkfield Manor

I'm getting married there next summer, and I fell in love with it at first sight. Great menu, beautiful rooms (they have recently done a lot of renovations), and really reasonable price. We went to the tasting and it was UNBELIEVABLE!! All of our guests will get of choice of 6 entrees (including filet mingon, double stuffed pork chops, and sea bass), also the cocktail hour is great (it includes a ton a food as well as things that I wanted like shrimp cocktail and baby lamb chops), oh also all guests get an appetizer, salad and pasta before dinner. Everyone I have dealt with there so far has been incredible, professional, and attentive. As for the outside, that was our only drawback, BUT they have recently updated / renovated the gardens to take pics and if it's raining, the inside has a beautiful piano, fireplace and domed atruim. (Oh also all of our guests will be greeted with champange and piano playing). I know someone mentioned that it is on a main road, however, Larkfield Road is not that busy, and many catering halls are on main roads (Old Country Road, Route 347,etc.) .....and our guests will only be outside for a short time, so we were OK with it (oh also we get valet parking!!!) - Hope this helps!!!
