The Last 24 Hours Have Been HeLL!
My poor little angel is NOT feeling well at all....
Yesterday morning, Paul woke up very cranky and out of sorts....he kept whining/crying and wouldn't eat any breakfast....he even went back to sleep after his drank his juice - and he NEVER does that!
So, we brought him into the doctor and he had a low grade temp (99.6) and a red throat/runny nose.
So, we gave him some extra TLC (as if he's not smothered in it already
) and lots of fluids and tried to get him to nap. Finally at about 4:30PM, he and Daddy fell asleep together!
I woke them up at 6:45PM b/c I wanted them to eat some dinner, and Paul was burning up! His temp had jumped to 103.2!!
Mommy starts to panic and cold washcloths start flying! I gave him two droppers of Tylenol and called the Kids Hotline. Basically, they do not consider anything under 105. to be 'high.' So, we run a lukewarm bath and put Paul in. He immediately starts balling his eyes out!
Talk about heartbreaking - he usually LOVES his bath!
When we were getting him dressed, I noticed that the spot on his leg where the chicken pox vaccine was administered was red and swollen. So, I think all this is from the shot
I feel so bad for my baby!
We fed him some toast and gave him some Motrin before putting him to bed at 10PM. He woke up SCREAMING at 4:25AM this morning....his temp was up again - this time, 103.7
Mommy is again frantic!
More cold washcloths, some cool water in the sippy and more Motrin. It took about 1.5 hours for him to cool down....the whole time, he clung to his Daddy for comfort.
We are soooo tired and strung out right now....but, Paul is napping and his temp has cooled to 100.2 I am praying that the fever stays down now and the worst is over.
I can't stand to see my baby like this!!!!!!!
