The last thing my mom's cousin said before she passed away...

The last thing my mom's cousin said before she passed away...

I went to find her card that she gave us and it said,

'Dear Elisa and Angelo,

Congratulations and best wishes on your engagement. I know you will be very happy. May the Lord shed His blessing on you both for a very long and happy life together.

Love you, Rose Ann'

What really upsets me the most is, I never got to give her a thank you card. She gave us such a generous gift, and her daughter told us she was so excited to be invited and go to the party. I get hysterical crying every time I think that she didn't get to know how much I appreciated her card and gift. I told her at the party, but I was going to include the picture of her in the card and just say thank you so very much for just being there and being part of our special day. I'm so upset. She was so young still, just in her late 50's, early 60's I think. I'm so sad right now...here's what happened if you didn't read my post...

Well, thanks for all your prayers. My mom's cousin passed away at 6:30pm. They took the breathing tube out at 1 and she lasted 5 and a half hours. I'm sitting here in tears right now. I can't stop crying. I just keep thinking how I JUST saw her three weeks ago. I'm SO thankful for that. I hadn't seen her in a few months, and was just thrilled she was able to make it to our party. I'm so grateful God gave us that time with her. I'm going to miss her beyond words. Her own mother just passed away a little over a year ago. It seems strange. Just keep praying God gets us through this. She's not suffering and in a much better place. I'm actually jealous. It makes me cry even more thinking where she is. With Jesus. WOW, what a thought. It just doesn't get any better than that. Anyway, thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. They've meant a lot. Please continue to keep my Aunt, Uncle, and friend Aldo in your prayers, that they would be healed as well. God bless!

I know you are upset, but you have to just keep saying to yourself that she was able to go to your e-party, see how happy you were and know that you will be taken care of for the rest of your life.

Life s*cks sometimes and it throws some hard punches at you, believe me I have been punched more then once with tragedy, but the thing that keeps you going is the life and happiness around you and be grateful for that.

She is in gods hands now and in a much better place.

Do not feel guilty for not sending a thank you card, because believe me she knows how thankful you are to have had her in your life.

I agree don't beat yourself up. Your cousin would not want that. I had a friend pass away and I cried hysterically when I heard because I hadn't found a way to call her because I knew she had cancer but she didn't tell me and I knew I would break down crying on the phone, so I put it off and then it was too late. I honestly believe that she knew how much you loved her and that is what matters.

While I am not overly religious it is obvious to me that God is a very large and important part of your life. I have found the following scripture and thought it appropriate.

May God Bless you and Keep you and your family during this difficult time.

Trials and Temptations
2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

9The brother in humble circumstances ought to take pride in his high position. 10But the one who is rich should take pride in his low position, because he will pass away like a wild flower. 11For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will fade away even while he goes about his business.

12Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

13When tempted, no one should say, 'God is tempting me.' For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. 15Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

16Don't be deceived, my dear brothers. 17Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.

I'm so sorry
She knows how thankful you were!! I wouldn't even worry about that. She is with Jesus, and with you now, and always will be.
She hears your thoughts, and prayers.
I will keep your family in my prayers
