The Lessings Facilities

Hello ladies!

I am newly engaged and my fiance and I are going to look at locations for our march, 2010 reception. I would LOVE to have it at The Bourne Mansion. I was wondering if any of you have had your wedding there, or have been to a wedding there? Also, if you have used the Vanderbilt at Dowling, or The Vanderbilt Mansion, or any other mansions, please also inculde those reviews ... I would LOVE to have our wedding at a mansion like that, but I want to see what others have to say about them.

Thanks in advance!

There are pictures from my friend's wedding at Bourne in my album- absolutely breathtaking place- none of us were floored by the food- it was good but my friend thought her tasting was much better than the night of her wedding hth

I looked at both the Vanderbilt and the Bourne but we fell in love with Woodlands and the Royalton and wound up booking the Royalton (which has out of this world food!). You should check out those venues as well. They also have that 'mansion' feel.

What is the Royalton? Where is it? Are there more than one wedding occurring at a time?

Thanks for the reviews so far!

Re: The Lessings Facilities

It's in Roslyn and was the old Roslyn Country Club. Only 1 event occurs at a time. We did a tasting and the food is out of this world! Every vendor or person we talk to who knows the Royalton talks about how beautiful it is and how great the food is.
Your menu is completely custom and they throw in so many things. You get 15 passed hour d'euvers, mutliple stations, customized 3 passed martinis, a bridal suite, a groom suite, a parent's suite (with their own attendant), and you can stay free overnight in the bridal suite with your own personal butler. It's beautiful and has multiple marble fireplaces, chandeliers, and sconces throughout all of the rooms. You should definitely check it out!

I was married at Timberpoint, which although part of the country club, is actually an historic mansion as well. I can't say enough great things about them! My sister was married at Dowling when it was a Lovin Oven facility, and it was such a gorgeous and unique setting! I believe the food for both Bourne and Dowling are prepared at Timberpoint and transported to those facilities, and the staff at Timberpoint is shared with Bourne and Dowling, so if you have any questions feel free to FM me! Good luck!

I looked at the Bourne Mansion, de Seversky, The Vanderbilt in Centerport and the Vanderbilt at Dowling. The Bourne is amazing but I felt it was too big for my wedding since I'm only having btwn 120-140. The Vanderbilt in Centerport has wonderful views but they only do the weddings in tents. I fell in love with the Vanderbilt at Dowling, the room is the perfect size but it still has the mansion/water feel that the Bourne has, just on a smaller scale. I think they'll all good choices, it really depends on how many people you're having and if you want to do the outdoor wedding.
