The Metropiltan

Hi Ladies!

I am planning to book the Metropolitan... but I keep getting cold feet! We love the set up but not too sure about the food and service. Has anyone been there?

I've never been there. Why don't you ask them if you can go there and taste the food?

Re: The Metropiltan

Thanks for the tips. I love this site!

I think they have a tasting soon. I have seen some good posts about it also, but I am still nervous! But nobody I know has been there. I read in a couple of posts that they didnt like the inside too much, but I like it. So now I am just concerned about the rest of it - like if there's enough food in the ****tail, etc.

I think I am going to go mad - it's harder to plan a wedding than to find the husband

I've never been there, but my mom went to a wedding there and said everything was great. She said the food was amazing.

dmf - i was at a wedding there in september of 01. everything was perfect - the only thing i didn't like was that the people were on two levels that turned me off. my GF mentioned after the fact, that people on the top level were kinda put out and away from stuff. if you like the set-up then go for it!!! everything else was fabulous!!! can you fit everyone in the main level???

I went to a wedding there about 7 years ago, and my senior prom was there about 9 years ago, and it was a beautiful place! I can't remember the food, but I just remember loving the style, the upstairs/downstairs thing in the reception area. It is just such a beautiful place!

Thanks. I feel much more confident! I am inviting about 200-210 people. They say the downstairs fits 180, but that seems too tight to me. If the 20% rule works out for me, then I can comfortably fit 160 downstairs. If not, might put some tables upstairs or use bigger tables if possible. Thanks again

edited typo.

Re: The Metropiltan

My cousin got married there 6 years ago. Her whole wedding dinner was downstairs and the cocktail was upstairs. I know that we were pretty impressed by the cocktail hour. I remember complimenting her on that. The dinner itself I don't remember. I also thought that it was cool how the band was standing on that ledge. The only downside was that she got married there and there was a small kitchen fire that caused the fire alarm to go off during her vows. They actually went off when the Rev. said does anyone have any objections! It was funny!

My sister was married there in June, the place was amazing! She had the cocktail hour upstairs and the reception downstairs. I thinks he has about 170 there and i would not reccommend going over that if you have them on one level.
