The Metropolitan?

The Metropolitan?

I'm going to The Metropolitan in Glen Cove next week to check it out. The lady gave me a good quote and I like the fact that it's one wedding at a time so they cater to me on that day. They said they make the cake and it can accommodate 250, but I have like 130.

Has anyone had a wedding or been to a wedding there who may have comments? Is the top floor an extension of the wedding? If so, how does that work? Do they feel isolated?

Thanks!

I have been to a wedding there-- it was may of last year, awesome space, loved the set up, cocktail area would have been a little tight if they didnt open the outdoor area, but the outdoor area was beautiful and great! In the main room the wedding that i went to didnt really use the upstairs space except for picture and hanging out- they didnt use it for any eating tables but there were smaller like cocktail table up there. One thing that i really liked about this place is that the place is yours the whole right, they kept the outside open so guests could go out there throughout the night... really loved the wedding I went to there :)

cocktail hour was amazing :) mash potato bar-- i was in heaven, also they offered red bull and vodka all night, not sure if they paid extra for that but i know some catering halls dont offer the red bull, dinner was good- I would remember the food if it was bad. I like the way the dance floor is set up because you can really see it from all angles.... cake, i cant say I remember it, sorry!

Hi! FH and I looked there and LOVED it!! It was def a top choice. From what I remember, the CH is upstairs and the downstairs is the reception.

Such a cool space and the prices are so reasonable.

We looked there as well and really did love it and the prices were great. We ended up not picking it because we are getting married in the winter and we felt it was too dark for that.

We had our engagement party at the Metropolitan Bistro in Sea Cliff and they either were or are affiliated (I forget) and the food was amazing. People are still telling us what a great party it was!

I am getting married there in 8 days, and I could not be more happy in my choice. The place is so beautiful and classy in a very chic understated way. Eileen has been FANTASTIC to work with. I am soo excited to get married there!!

Thank you! I'm excited to go there. I like the fact that you are the only wedding and they cater to you and your party alone. Have you eaten the food there?

I def want to check this out on my boss' recomendation. He said it was a really nice place and really reasonable. Did you check out the virtual tour on the website? I was exploring it last week. I really liked that feature and the 'terrace' area looks realllllly nice!
Good luck

I was looking at the virtual tour earlier. I like the terrace being that it looks covered, so if it would happen to rain, my guests don't have to worry - at least I hope that's how it is. It looks very intimate, and I like that. Next Wednesday!

On the website, I don't see the outside, do they have a garden or anything like that where we would be able to take pictures??

Re: The Metropolitan?

They give you a permit for a park about a mile away. So you get a lot more outdoor space then a typical hall !

That's nice, thanks!

I hope when I go on Wednesday I can go see that park.
