The million dollar question(but not really haha)

Original post by Jill52787

So my FH and i are doing our BBB registry tonight. I was talking to my mom and grandma and joked that I wouldn't be getting one of the most traditional things- a coffee maker, because neither FH or I drink coffee, ever.

So my mom laughed and my grandma said that I MUST register for a coffee maker so that when I entertain I can offer my guests coffee. Uhhhh, not only do I not drink coffee,I dunno how to MAKE coffee

So my question is, do I really need a coffee maker on my registry? Or can I just offer my guests wine?

They actually make coffee bags that are just like tea bags, but they brew coffee... obviously, haha. You can just register for a tea kettle and then have some coffee bags on hand for when you entertain.

Actually we used these when I went camping over memorial day it was crazy, they worked but we had never seen them before!

I think you need to put one on, unless you are not going to entertain a lot and just want to run out to DD for a pot of Joe or something like that... it all depends, but a lot of people drink coffee so you want to be prepared for your guests...sry!

i do not have a coffee maker. i drink coffee. a lot of coffee. which is why i do not want one in the house! out of sight, out of mind

when guests come over i offer them tea. or wine. or water. or whatever else we have.

no one has really complained...yet.

come the holidays, we may borrow one from my parents. but i really dont want one, and honestly, we dont have the space for it either!

Get a small Keuring. You can always use it for yourselves to make hot chocolate or tea.

For the first year we lived in our house we didn't have a coffee maker for that same reason, neither one of us drink it.
But it was THE FIRST thing we put on our registery. After having people over and them asking for coffee and we had to say, ah we don't have on coffee maker, we decided it was a MUST! It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just something you can stuff in your closet or cabinet and take it out when you have guests.

My sister doesn't drink coffee either. I would suggest a keurig or a perculator.

The down side to the keurig is that if you don't use it it will just sit taking up counter space.

The perculator is good because you can store it away until needed. If you plan on entertaining a lot, I would register for 2! (decaf and regular)

to play devils advocate, a lot of people like wine and beer but people that don't drink alcohol don't have any to offer .
