After visiting 20 some places, the search has come to an end. That's not a typo, we have actually come to an decision as far as the reception location. We will likely go to contract tomorrow. L is really excited and nervous, and so am I.

While Cheatu Briand put up a good fight, ultimately we decided to go with...

Villa Lombardi

We felt that it's theme was more what we were looking for than CB's. However I think a wedding at CB would be really awesome as well. Certainly the 2 best we saw, out of a damn lot. :ha: We also liked the larger cocktail room VL had as well.

Since we are likely to contract tomorrow, I could use the help of future Villa Brides in negotiating. If you could FM me what you were able to argue for, I'd REALLY appreciate it. I would NEVER mention your name in discussions, I'm just wonder what kinda extra stuff I can get. They don't seem to want to budge on the PP price.

I have to say after todays trip, it felt like a weight was lifted off my chest, that's for sure.

Anyone have any tips on what I should make sure is on the contract?

Yes, we are doing it on Labor Day. Either people will come, or they won't. We like it partly because it's warm out, and that's the day when our minimum works. I would go if I was invited. Nice food, and a great party or a BBQ...I'll take the wedding. IF they don't come, well...I'll forgive them, no really, I will. No really...It's not like I hold grudges for THAT long... haha

Besides, the people who mean most to me will be there. And I know we are gonna have an awesome day, and everyone coming will have a great time. I'll see to it personally!

I've never been to a wedding there but FH's aunt was and she and her DH kept me hostage for an hour telling me every single little thing that they ate while there because they thought the food was so good!

Off to sign the contract...I hope they take credit cards as the first deposit. I know all the other places I went said it was ok for the first, and they needed checks there after.

yes, now the rest will fall into place...

i found the location to be the most difficult decision to make. booking other vendors was easier in one way, but more frustrating in another (lots of options) - coordinating everything seems to be the biggest annoyance to date.
